Night owls, why are you awake (2.30am?)

I'm feeling very anxious tonight with my emetophobia unfortunately (fear of vomiting).

Have a bit of stomach pain but I'm due on my period in a week so trying to be rational that it could come early or be gas etc.

Really worked myself up, going to have to go in the living room soon if it's not better as I'll wake my partner up Blush

I also have an essay to finish this weekend so that's stressing me out too. Sad

What's keeping you awake?

I've got head pain. I know I won't sleep so I am staying up until the pills kick in and then I might get a few hours. It's odd because it's like an electric shock pain in the back of my head. Had it two days but never had it before.
I am usually up until about 2am anyway though - usually reading.

Goosethemoose · 03/09/2021 02:41

Massive night out with colleagues, first one in 18 months and post baby no. 2. So so wonderful to connect with people face to face, drink, be merry… and now collapse into bed! Hope you feel better soon.

IWantT0BreakFree · 03/09/2021 02:41

I am pregnant and struggling with fatigue. I fell asleep at 6pm, woke at 11pm and now I can't get back to sleep. Work will be fun in the morning!

frenchfancy81 · 03/09/2021 02:42

I'm on a decluttering mission and often decide at 10pm I'll do some...tonight I did 4 hours in the kitchen/playroom area...shattered now but was very productive!

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 03/09/2021 02:44

I'm feeding baby. Been up since about 2.

Also seething a bit at DH who was up doing his own thing and came up to bed at 1:30ish and will most likely sleep till about 9:30 tomorrow despite starting work at 9 am. Meanwhile I have to snatch sleep where I can. He's acting like he has no responsibilities.

NothingIsWrong · 03/09/2021 02:44

Lying in bed worrying about the size I've let myself get to and wondering if I will ever be able to deal with it as I have no willpower

Tormundsbeard · 03/09/2021 02:47

Lately I have been waking from 2am to 5am…. Lots going on in my life, so I think it is my subconscious waking me. I usually read the next day’s paper and do the sudoku.

It does mean I am super tired around 9pm and have no trouble falling asleep

JustAnotherManicGrungeDay · 03/09/2021 02:52

Chronic insomnia. Been like it since I was a baby. I don't think I've ever had more than 3 hours unbroken sleep and if I get 5 hours in a night I consider it a good night's sleep. I'm mid 40s and yet to start sleeping through the night! GrinSad

Last night I went to sleep around 10. Woke at 11.30. Dropped off again around 12 and woke at 2. This'll be me awake now until about 5 when I'll fall asleep for another hour before getting up at 6.

On bad nights I can wake up up to 6 times times in an hour. Or 3 times before midnight.

I’ve had a stomach bug and I’ve been throwing up for two days . Not sure if it’s anxiety or hunger but my tummy feels funny and I’ve soooooooo much work to catch up on tomorrow. Worried to eat again in case in sick. Just been eating plain toast .I also slept at 1pm - 5pm so that hasn’t helped. First zoom meeting is at 9am 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

JoolsSchmools · 03/09/2021 02:56

DH is T1 diabetic and my 6rh sense woke me as he was fidgeting in his sleep, which is an indicator his sugars are low.
Managed to wake him to have something to eat and now he's snoring away and I'm wide awake.

Kat3511 · 03/09/2021 02:57

@NothingIsWrong you totally can do something about it you just have to start the process. How much would you like to loose x

Kat3511 · 03/09/2021 03:00

@BunnytheFriendlyDragon why are they like this . It’s probably because he thinks your superwoman. Do you tell him your concerns xx

MimiDaisy11 · 03/09/2021 03:01

2 month old baby. Although already I’ve had more sleep than yesterday so not all bad.

NothingIsWrong · 03/09/2021 03:03

Between 3 and 4 stone ideally. It just seems like too much of a mountain to climb. Full on stressful job, 3 kids, I drink too much, marriage is plodding along with not much to recommend it but no real reason to end it.

A rut you could lose a tractor in.

mintich · 03/09/2021 03:08

Up with baby as he is teething!

lilmishap · 03/09/2021 03:09

Bastard cat has caught something and is scrabbling outside my bedroom door wanting to drop it on me if she gets in or rub it on my legs if I go out there.
I caught a glimpse of it and it's a rat.
Eventually she'll fuck off into the garden leaving it outside my door, then I'll deal with it.

It's been nearly 90 minutes, yes I am a big ol' scaredy cat when it comes to touching dead rats.

Kat3511 · 03/09/2021 03:10

@NothingIsWrong what is positive for you ? Have you tried to loose weigh or are you unsure where to start xx

Kat3511 · 03/09/2021 03:11

@lilmishap hahaha ohhh dear 😂🤦‍♀️

riverpebbles · 03/09/2021 03:15

I think my hormones mean I wake up (age 45). Although lack of exercise doesn't help.

But I should also admit that finding out today that my very anxious dd (age 14) may have autism is a bit of a shock.

fattymumbum · 03/09/2021 03:16

Dp was out at the pub and just came home and told me he was abused by his friend when he was a child. Dp's family know the friend abused his brother and his brother went to the police, but do didn't say anything and I'm the only one he's told.

He said he can't sleep but now has passed out and I'm still up. He has a family funeral tomorrow without me because I need to look after our children.

Frolicinameadow · 03/09/2021 03:17

Headache from stress keeping me awake. I’m desperate for sleep but it’s not happening

OhWhatsTheDifference · 03/09/2021 03:20

I had an operation last week and since then have been struggling sleep sitting up, knees resting on cushions, with surgical stockings nipping my legs, and dressings pulling on my skin.

I'm knackered and becoming irritatingly nocturnal.

fattymumbum · 03/09/2021 03:22

@BunnytheFriendlydragon

I've had a few conversations with my dp over last 2 years about this, and has recently started putting a lot more effort in after he's seen that I have massively tidied up the house and didn't even have time to sit and have a 5 min conversation in the evening due to constantly cleaning up and bring up in the night with our baby.

fattymumbum · 03/09/2021 03:27

@riverpebbles I hope you get the support for your dd. X

riverpebbles · 03/09/2021 03:29

@fattymumbum what a terrible shock for you. Flowers I hope DH manages the funeral okay tomorrow. How difficult.
