Have you tried a garlic rocker? Mine was a game changer

Rugbycomet · 01/09/2021 19:16

The ones from IKEA are amazing….the round ones. They are super strong and don’t rust or break. Dishwasher proof too"

[quote OverTheWater]The Joseph Joseph one. Bought it after a recommendation on here - it's great and easy to wash

Was just about to recommend this one! It comes apart and you can clean it so easily.

Jedstre · 01/09/2021 19:17

I’ve had this one for years www.lakeland.co.uk/16640/Zyliss-Garlic-Press

pistachioicecream · 01/09/2021 19:17

We use a garlic grater plate. Bought one at a craft market once and haven’t used a garlic press since!

IWasBornInAThunderstorm · 01/09/2021 19:17

The presser bit comes off and you can use it to scrape the garlic off. (The picture probably explains it better)

Mrgrinch · 01/09/2021 19:24

I switched to the jars of pre-crushed garlic after many people recommending it and I have to say I'd never go back to crushing my own

ISpyCobraKai · 01/09/2021 19:26

I'm a pre-crusher buyer too, only use fresh if I need whole cloves.

seekingsolace2 · 01/09/2021 19:26

The IKEA ones definitely I'd swear by

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/09/2021 19:28

You need a garlic twist.

pickingdaisies · 01/09/2021 19:31

What's a garlic twist, Schaden?

NecklessMumster · 01/09/2021 19:32

I just grate on a microplane now

StarfishDish · 01/09/2021 19:32

@Mrgrinch Same! I always said it was the height of laziness, wouldn't taste the same etc
ThatSunnyCorner · 01/09/2021 19:33

We use a twist, this one: garlictwist.co.uk/

TheWholeJingbang · 01/09/2021 19:33

I use a potato peeler

Ditto for cheese

ShinyNewStart · 01/09/2021 19:39

OXO good grips are really good. It reverses and presses the remains out so it's easy to clean. The IKEA one is a bit hard to clean if it's dried a bit

BarbaraofSeville · 01/09/2021 20:06

I recommend buying frozen crushed garlic. No preparation required and it's massively cheaper than fresh garlic. Something like this

stclair · 01/09/2021 20:09

www.josephjoseph.com/products/rocker-garlic-crusher-green?variant=36470419325000

Definitely this. And easier to clean than a regular crusher.

tired17 · 01/09/2021 20:18

Garlic twist is the best I've found (but not the cheaper substitutes)

OverTheWater · 01/09/2021 20:19

I also have this and find it hard to get the crushed garlic out. Any tips?

I buy the crushed garlic in a jar, it doesn't taste the same. Haven't tried frozen!

BlackboardMonitorVimes · 01/09/2021 20:28

Garlic twist. I've had mine for years and would never go back.

BlackboardMonitorVimes · 01/09/2021 20:29

Oh wait! That was a ridiculous priced one, Amazon do them for around £15.

LadyDanburysCane · 01/09/2021 20:30

I have one of these….
