I totally forgot about this! Just found it at the back of the fridge. It expired on Friday, would you eat it anyway or should I bin it??

muffinffaces · 30/08/2021 16:18

yes & I certainly would cook it & see

JackOfGentleman · 30/08/2021 16:19

Cook it and see what??

I would bin

indigoemerald · 30/08/2021 16:20

I’d cook it - it won’t kill you a few days past the printed expiry date.

BuffaloCauliflower · 30/08/2021 16:20

Yeh it’ll be fine. If it smells ok it’ll be ok. The dates on things are usually very conservative

Bluntness100 · 30/08/2021 16:20

Smell it. But no, I wouldn’t, I’m not a fan of having the shits.

Teeheehee1579 · 30/08/2021 16:20

Of course, if it looks and smells fine then I absolutely would. FAR too much awful food waste going on these days based on dubious use by dates.

FredaFox · 30/08/2021 16:20

Yeah I'd give it a go, check it on opening, check again once cooked and make a call
Probably eat it

Orangesarenottheonlyfruit · 30/08/2021 16:21

Eat it.

userxx · 30/08/2021 16:22

It will be fine.

VladmirsPoutine · 30/08/2021 16:23

I would.

fallfallfall · 30/08/2021 16:24

I’d make sure to heat it thoroughly and yes I’d eat it. Best by dates are not expiry dates.

ISpyCobraKai · 30/08/2021 16:24

I'd eat it.

MercedesBenz · 30/08/2021 16:26

Yes if it’s piping hot , if it smells ok then yes

furbabymama87 · 30/08/2021 16:26

One day out of date I would eat, but not 3 sorry.

AlmostSummer21 · 30/08/2021 16:26

If I ate meat, which I don't, I'd eat it. I'd just make sure it was piping hot all the way through.

AlmostSummer21 · 30/08/2021 16:27

Except it IS 'use by' in this case!
AuntLydiasNewHairdo · 30/08/2021 16:28

No. Not full of preservatives.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/08/2021 16:29

I wouldn’t. I push things like this all the time. And I have the shits after it all the time. I am starting to learn my lesson.

Albgo · 30/08/2021 16:29

Feel a bit sick by how many people would consider still eating this. Personally I'd throw it away (well I'd actually give it to my mum to feed to the foxes).

WillowintheUK · 30/08/2021 16:30

I’d have cooked it, eaten it, and then noticed the date when I was disposing of the packaging. It’ll be fine. It’s only a couple of days. 🤷‍♀️

muffinffaces · 30/08/2021 16:30

Cook it and see what??

what it tastes like, you'll soon know if it's off

Pokhora · 30/08/2021 16:33

Normally yes but as it is mince no as that is notorious for food poisoning.

if it's absolutely fine to eat on the 27th then it's unlikely to be rotten on the 30th when kept in the fridge.
