Well, after asking her outright, you was not that far off!
She wants a male friend (just friend) to stop over. When I pulled a face she said 'eww mum, no, I know what you are thinking but all we will be doing is playing playstation' shook her head at me and said 'I'm not angry, I am disappointed you think your 13 year old would be like that...eww, can you leave my room now'

I kind of wish she was organising a party now!

@Sonarl A helpful way to remember it is that you want to DIE (don't really die; this is just an acronym). D-DISTANCE: Avoid the person as much as possible I-IGNORE: Ignore what the person says/does E-EUROPE: Take a gap year (or two!) to backpack around Europe and hope the narc has been fired by the time you get back
