Even if it is the beginning of the August Bank Holiday weekend...

The thermostat of my heating is set at 20c.

This morning I was woken by the sound of the radiators creaking on!
The house is now warm & snug which is how I like it but still... I'm in the South East which is usually quite mild!

Has anyone else's heating come on?

(The heating came on this time last year as the weather was torrential rain but it's due to be dry, cloudy with occasional sun this weekend).

What kind of billionaire are you?
20!
Mine's set at 16.
Get yer cardy on.

orangejuicer · 27/08/2021 08:26

Ha ha. Mine's set to 18.5 so we're some way off yet.

Pascha · 27/08/2021 08:27

Mine is set to 18 and hasn't clicked on yet but I must admit, in the mizzle yesterday when I had jeans and long sleeved top on I did think it would be nice to come home to a warm radiator to lean against. Suits me.

Pascha · 27/08/2021 08:29

Also I'm considering switching the underfloor heating back on in the bathroom. Must be nearly autumn.

Devastatedyetagain · 27/08/2021 08:29

Not only has the heating come, I lit a fire in July!!!

SheABitSpicyToday · 27/08/2021 08:29

Ours is set to 17 and it’s come on twice in the past few months in the evenings.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 27/08/2021 08:30

Ours is set at 17.5 (it will get adjusted as it gets colder) but the 'stat is still registering 23° in the hall anyway so a fair while until it comes on yet hopefully

MrsPworkingmummy · 27/08/2021 08:31

Ours hasn't been on yet, but we tend to set our thermostat to 20 too. That's only because the house 3 stories and very old; the first and second floor are freezing so putting it on 20 helps to get a little bit of heat up there. We're in the North East

LadyCatStark · 27/08/2021 08:32

I’m in the north west and it’s beautiful up here! It’s forecast to be around 20 degrees for the next week and has been this week too. I’m allowed to be smug because every other year we have to watch the south enjoying heatwaves on the news while we watch the endless rain 😂.

MrsA2015 · 27/08/2021 08:33

I fight myself all day yesterday not to put the heating on, thermostat reading was 21 but it was so chilly. I layered up and had a hot drink. It’s usually set to 19 before I crank it up to 22 during winter our house is unbearable cold!

MrsSkylerWhite · 27/08/2021 08:33

It’s lovely here in the NW, warm and sunny all week and set to continue through the bh Smile Ours usually goes on around October.

MrsA2015 · 27/08/2021 08:34

Fought unbearably Hmm

Palavah · 27/08/2021 08:34

I'm in London zone 2. Not particularly sunny but I'm in shorts still...

FreeBritnee · 27/08/2021 08:35

Ours is set to 18 overnight, 20ish in the day.

icedcoffees · 27/08/2021 08:36

Heating?!

It's been shorts and t-shirts weather here all week - we're off out to sit in the pub garden for lunch in a few hours Grin

SayItBackwards · 27/08/2021 08:38

Shorts and t.shirts here too - North West.

mafted · 27/08/2021 08:42

Our heating is off. It doesn't usually go on until around October. When it's on it's set to 16 I think maybe 18. Our plumber keeps putting it up to 21 which is uncomfortably hot.

SoupDragon · 27/08/2021 08:43

Mine hasn't but that is because I lowered the thermostat to 14 to prevent it coming on at all.

I have, however, already dug out my hoodies.

Newestname001 · 27/08/2021 08:46

I'm currently wearing layers - together with warm socks and my very thick hooded fleece... lovely... 🌹

HeronLanyon · 27/08/2021 08:46

Was up v early and realised it was cold. Put heat on for an hour. Was glad of it.

Amboseli · 27/08/2021 08:47

Ours is off. Our house is quite warm, I'd have to have it at least 21 before it would switch on though.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 27/08/2021 08:47

Mines been on too as it’s dropped below 21 already on a few occasions. Definitely feels colder and damper in the air.

grapewine · 27/08/2021 08:48

Mine comes on 1 November. Until then I layer up and use blankets. It's necessity more than anything else, though.

MargosKaftan · 27/08/2021 08:50

Mines set at 18.5, on last 2 mornings.

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 27/08/2021 08:51

Ours is set to 18 degrees and we've woken up to the smell of warm, slightly dusty Blush radiator for a few mornings now. Yesterday was only 17 degrees outside all day here in the SE. My DM was on the Norfolk coast, where the hardy locals were in shorts and the visitors were in coats and hats!
