What's your favourite sound?

I'll go first: I love hearing woodpigeons cooing. Reminds me of summer, gardens and it is such a peaceful sound.

My one year old's belly laugh. It brings me so much happiness to hear her.

Also my children laughing. It's not as frequent as it should be, so I treasure it all the more when I hear it.

Rain on the windows at night
A babbling stream
Waves breaking on the shore
(All very watery)

Oh yes children laughing is a great one. And waves!! So relaxing or cathartic depending on how strong.

I also love hearing my neighbours' toddler babbling through the wall- he's just starting to make recognisable words, and it's so lovely.

My dogs snoring 😴 (it's not loud but there's just something comforting about her little snores ❤️)

A record being scratched - such a unique and cool sound.

Mine is sitting out in summer and hearing other people enjoying themselves. Laughter, faint music, kids, but most of all the sound of cutlery clinking

Clicky whispering sounds, keybaord tapping, I love asmr and listen to these videos. So relaxing and send me to sleep

Rain in the middle of the night.

Ooh also hearing distant lawn mowers on a summers day and low planes flying by

I opened this thread specifically to say woodpigeons too. I love that noise. Reminds me of summer and holidays.

I also like (all similar sounding) lawnmowers, tractors and little aeroplanes. Love it when I'm out in the countryside and all I can hear is a little plane overheard.

DD2 saying she is going upstairs/to the park/outside Anywhere to give me peace (she can be a bit clingy)

Heavy rain on the conservatory roof when I'm warm and cosy inside.

Rain or champagne corks popping

Thunderstorms with the bedroom window open whilst I'm in bed with a brew and a book.

Rain battering against the bedroom window or my teenagers joking and laughing with each other.

The orchestras that I play in.

I just get swallowed up in the lusciousness of the sound. Beautiful.
