The Jam

No, I don’t think so. Amazing lyrics, amazing tunes.

Who is your amazing band?

The Mac, the Doors, Radiohead and Pearl Jam are up there for me, too.

Absolutely love REM. One big regret is that I never saw them live.
WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 21/08/2021 22:23

I was listening today to 2 of my favourites
Thick as thieves and private he'll
Mary Coughlan and Kirsty MacColl are 2 of the best female singers

fiftyval · 21/08/2021 22:23

Supertramp, The Beatles, 10cc, ELO, Fleetwood Mac, Squeeze, Queen, The Kinks all spring to mind first.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 21/08/2021 22:25

Agree James too
I saw James as a support act for David Bowie
Nirvana too. I saw them as an afternoon act at Reading. They had a hell of a cult following

@amillionrosepetals

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Dukes. Greatest band no-one seems to have heard of.
DH loves SSJ

@groundcontroltomontydon

Came here to say Super Furries but less than a page in and they've already had a mention, rah! I'll add the National to the mix.
Hooray!!!
36degrees · 21/08/2021 22:47

I used to work with someone who was a massive fan of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Dukes.

For me, I'd say Manic Street Preachers, closely followed by James. They're definitely the two bands I've seen live most, anyway.

theliverpoolone · 21/08/2021 23:19

@Joe50 I saw them twice, absolutely brilliant. My regret is not seeing Leonard Cohen Sad

ThePersonFromPorlock · 21/08/2021 23:21

Roxy Music

LadyOfTheFlowers · 21/08/2021 23:33

In response to op, no, I don't believe so

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 21/08/2021 23:35

Biffy Clyro. They're just awesome. Amazing stage presence. Brilliant songwriting. Every member a great musician in their own right.

CassTheFox · 21/08/2021 23:36

Radiohead. No further questions at this time Grin

Callcat · 21/08/2021 23:37

The Smiths...never got to see them play live but I've seen Morrissey & Johnny Marr live in their own right where they have played smith songs and I've actually cried

And then the Stone Roses - seen them live just before they split (I was 15) and then seen them after the reformed - goose bump brilliant

REM - seen them twice the Monster Tour & This Way Up tour - just amazing

Carolwithane · 21/08/2021 23:40
