Help, I've got a tapeworm and it's messing with my head

I've had stomach ache for a few weeks. Phoned GP, submitted stool sample. Results not back yet. Gripey pain, back pain, feel tired. GP said probably gastritis or h.pylori infection.

This morning I passed a worm 🪱 about 5cm long 😱😱😱 it was dead. Looked a bit like tagliatelle but thinner.

I'm so disgusted, I wash my hands really regularly. Horrified, vaguely amused, stomach feels like it's being eaten from the inside out and now I know why! Dear Lord.

I will phone GP again on Monday to request prescription for tablets to kill it. Until then I KNOW IT IS THERE and it's so disturbing 🤯

I read that you can get rid of tape worms by eating the heart of a cabbage raw. Probably easier ways though, hope you get sorted asap!

Don't suppose you have eaten a Chinese takeaway? I once passed an undigested beansprout and it looked just like a worm!

I had a salad for lunch today, including beansprouts. I'm keen to see what happens next...

I think you all must not be chewing properly. I could eat a bag of sprouts without any bathroom drama because my teeth have sliced them up before they get swallowed.

I'm sure I read somewhere that eating lots of grated carrot gets rid of intestinal worms but I may have dreamt it as it seems unlikely...

Nightmare I would be the same. My cousin are soil when he was a kid and I remember he went to lol and screamed for my aunt and there was a 10 inch earthworm hanging out. She grabbed it and took to gp who said he had ate eggs in the soil. Yuk

Ha ha I remember getting wormed regularly like every month. How mad...you were scared to scratch your ass or that's it you've worms. I think I have wormed my kids twice because they had worms but never thought of doing it regularly.

Then again I also remember getting a spoonful of cod liver oil every am. Total rank and repeated on you whole day

Seriously sounds awful. What we were treated for with that horrible raspberry drink was threadworms horrible but not to the same level.

Hopefully all sorted now (and if from beef I’m going to be more careful i love medium rare beef)
