So, I'm 36, I've been working 20 years and my new employer wants to see my GCSE certificates. So yes kids, they are important Grin

Admin/receptionist job.

Lost them years ago during a house move and its going to cost me several forms of I.D and £45.00 to get them from AQA.

Who else still has theirs 15+ years later?

I still have mine. I've needed them for most jobs.

Getting certain GCSE grades was a requirement for my first graduate job, and proving I wasn't a liar was a requirement for every pretty much other job thereafter.

It's such a bloody faff. I got good grades, so I have nothing to hide, but why they can't be linked to an electronic register employers can look up, I don't know. Surely bits of paper can be easily faked? And I can't be bothered keeping hold of them every time I move.

Mine are in a folder a long with other certificates gained as an adult
