I know it's for lots of convenient things. But that's what I need over the next couple of weeks.
What's nice in there.

It's probably our closest shop yet I haven't been in there years so also fancy going there.

Hear me out.... the space raider potato shapes are surprisingly moreish!

Hdhdjejdj · 19/08/2021 09:38

The frozen breakfast products like pain au chocolate

Hdhdjejdj · 19/08/2021 09:39

And the meat-free range. Richmond meat-free sausages are incredible

GettingUntrapped · 19/08/2021 09:39

Swedish meatballs, frozen. Great selection of ice cream. Frozen seafood pasta sauce.

Disrespected · 19/08/2021 09:41

Ohh I forgot they do random 'chips' like that. I had hula hoop ones about 6 years ago.
.
I plan just to go and mooch about but wanted a couole of ideas too.

I normally meal plan. But I'm fed up with it. Next week dh has got lots of late finishes. Ds and dsc aren't here till end of the week.
So just me dh and 2 smaller ones. One of which is fussy as in would prefer breaded fish chips and beans or chicken and potato (has dairy allergy and food issues so this would suit him being oven type food)

I saw a review the other day that their frozen lasagne was the best supermarket one.

But it's not all just convenience food. They do lots of frozen fish portions that could be cooked in an easy traybake, possibly with frozen mixed prepared Mediterranean veg.

They do lots of Greggs products, to bake at home. Their luxury mince pies are by far the best of any supermarket, but it's probably not quite the time for those.

I just buy Crisps and school snacks mainly. They used to do a fantastic joint of beef but I haven’t seen it for several months now which is a shame.

Huge bottles of squash are quite cheap -although the same price as home bargains. They quite often have big jars of coffee on offer. I don’t buy much actual frozen food there, the occasional bag of birds eye petit pois, box of nobbly bobbly ice creams, or mccain homestyle oven chips maybe. Teen doesn’t rate the pizzas so I don’t bother with them anymore.
Their mushrooms are better quality than the ones I’ve stopped getting delivered from Asda but I can’t think of anything else I buy from there really. No idea what people with a trolley load of shopping actually buy tbh. I know ours is always popular with the home shopping though so I’m sure, if you needed to, you could manage enough for a weekly shop.

ForCluckSake · 19/08/2021 09:44

The ice lolly range is really good. The fish is amazing quality especially the sea ass and prawns the chilli stir fry ones are so tasty.

PineappleWilson · 19/08/2021 09:44

macaroni cheese, curries, stone baked pizzas. The Greg's slices are good too (veg, chicken etc.)

ForCluckSake · 19/08/2021 09:44

Seabass worst auto correct ever Grin

LBOCS2 · 19/08/2021 09:45

Yes - boxes of MASSIVE prawns. Also the stir fry byriani which is very good, and their frozen pasty products. If you have young kids the ice cream (lolly) selection is second to none.

TheQueef · 19/08/2021 09:47

The battered fish strips or chunks.
Especially the salt and vinegar flavour, two for £5.
Frozen basa fillets lightly battered, £2 for a box of 2.
The frozen smoked haddock are really nice and a bargain but they are dyed.

dressupinyou · 19/08/2021 09:48

I really like their bread. They do thick sliced farmhouse style (tiger and normal) and it's lovely,

Their chicken tikka slices are a gross, hangover favourite of mine. Grin

DoodleBelle · 19/08/2021 09:49

Their chicken Kiev’s are great!

motheroreily · 19/08/2021 09:50

The tiger prawns are really nice. I also like all the ice lollies.

MNmonster · 19/08/2021 09:51

They sell the exact same things as any other supermarkets sell in their freezer section. I don't understand the snobbery around Iceland TBH.

They have lots of frozen fish and meats, usually all on 3 for £10. Frozen vegetables. The slimming world meal range is quite good. It's not all ready meals and sausage rolls.

We bought the hula hoop ones on a whim. Had to go back for a second bag.
MNmonster · 19/08/2021 09:52

I like them because they are free online next day delivery. And when I moved into my current house, they were the only supermarket who would deliver, despite Asda being closer.

are they actually potato shapes? My DP convinced me yesterday they were just crisps you heated yourself!
girlmom21 · 19/08/2021 09:55

I like that they have all the greggs pasties Blush

LutherRalph1 · 19/08/2021 09:57

@girlmom21 no they are like beef flavored smiley faces, so potatoey inside

TwoZeroTwoZero · 19/08/2021 09:57

All our veg, frozen onions, peppers and mushrooms. Diced potatoes. Gregg's stuff. Jacket spuds. Frozen battered fish. No bull burgers. Meat. Their thick white sliced bread is delicious. Yoghurts. Milk. Anything really as it's the same as asda or Tesco but cheaper.

WarmAndFluff · 19/08/2021 09:58

My kids love the bubblegum flavour ice lollies, and the 'no bull' vegan burger things are really tasty.

dementedpixie · 19/08/2021 10:04

We get the Chinese dim sum type dumplings, greggs savoury pastries, crisps, biscuits, nibbly party foods, ice lollies, capri sun, etc

dementedpixie · 19/08/2021 10:04

Frozen fish and prawns too
