I know it's for lots of convenient things. But that's what I need over the next couple of weeks.
What's nice in there.

It's probably our closest shop yet I haven't been in there years so also fancy going there.

@LutherRalph1 thanks! Guess where I'm going...

dementedpixie · 19/08/2021 10:07

Pakora chicken strips and huge bottles of sweet chilli sauce

TheQueef · 19/08/2021 10:12

If you have frozen chips the own brand in beef dripping are delicious as are the posh onion rings.

BarbaraofSeville · 19/08/2021 10:14

I keep wanting to go for a proper look and a freezer filler shop at Iceland, but our freezer always seems to be crammed full of fuck knows what.

Must concentrate on running it down so I can get some of the things mentioned on this thread.

dementedpixie · 19/08/2021 10:18

Our freezer is also crammed full of who knows what. Probably random bits of chicken breast that go in there never to be seen again

EmotionalSupportBear · 19/08/2021 10:20

their own brand crispy oven chips. OMG the are the NICEST chips EVER, best i've ever tasted, totally worth going in there just for those!

Tubbyinthehottub · 19/08/2021 10:21

Frozen pomegranate seeds

Twinkie01 · 19/08/2021 10:36

Lurpak, it's a great deal cheaper than in the supermarket. DS likes the tgi Friday ribs and the boneless wings too.

ParentingDilemmas · 19/08/2021 11:41

The things I like from Iceland are - their mini pancake bites from the fridge section, good range of pizzas, croissants are tasty too and overall their crisps selection is so varied compared to other shops. If you’re after ice cream then loads to pick from that you don’t see anywhere else x

Deathraystare · 19/08/2021 11:54

I went yesterday. I hardly ever go there. Was not impressed, especially with the no meat stuff. Didn't fancy shaped dinosaurs (I know they have to appeal to the kids!) but there was too much kiddy food. I do like the smiley potato things but I have weaned myself off things like that. No need to tell anyone that I got the 3 pack Fry's Turkish Delight x 2.

Deathraystare · 19/08/2021 11:55

Ooh! I lie I did find something, but it is very naughty. The Greggs Vegan sausage rolls!

ShellfishLove · 19/08/2021 11:56

This is a great thread; currently got a temporary kitchen whilst ours is being done, so need some good convenience food!

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 19/08/2021 12:03

The bread especially the tiger bread,
frozen fruit lots of choices
Frozen onions, peppers
ice cream when on offer and ice lollys. .
Frozen pizza but I cant remember which one was the best I'm sure there had been a thread on it previously

alsonotmyname · 19/08/2021 12:12

Their pea and salmon risotto is lovely and a hit with the kids, I like the paella too but it's too spicy for my dc. Frozen fish fillets are good and their stir in garlic prawns

MintyGreenDream · 19/08/2021 12:16

Thin crust pizzas, their premium ready meals

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 19/08/2021 12:28

Oh and the frozen macarons are yummy.

If your username is apt you're in for a treat Grin They've really upped the seafood offering these last couple of years, so much so that I have a monthly delivery just of fish! Free next day delivery if you spend £35 is a bargain too.
Anotherbrokenairer · 19/08/2021 12:35

Hash brown chips yummmmm

Miniestelle · 19/08/2021 12:41

I am a Iceland veteran since lockdown last year. Can always get good delivery slots at mine. Even same day sometimes. Harry ramsden chips, scamp and fish are lovely. The ice lolly selection is great. Gino di Campo's Italian range is very good. There is a chicken curry that is voted the best supermarket one. And their £1 bean, sausage and cheese bake is great for a quick tea for the kids or a hangover fix.

MrsJackRackham · 19/08/2021 13:29

Breaded chicken strips in various flavours, the hot n spicy ones have a nice kick.
The frozen paella is decent for a quick dinner, I fling in extra prawns.
Frozen chips and veg are no worse than any other supermarket.
My friend raves about their Indian curries.
Iceland has really upped their game in the last few years.

OhGiveUp · 19/08/2021 13:33

I buy most of my groceries from Iceland. I buy their meat, particularly the sirloin and fillet steak, diced beef, mince and diced lamb.
All my frozen veg and Indian / Chinese stuff.
Booze and soft drinks.
Dog food and kibble and of course, their lovely tiger bread and rolls.
I order online for next day free delivery. Fabulous.

Oblomov21 · 19/08/2021 13:35

Chilli covered fries were nice.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 19/08/2021 15:29

Iceland us brilliant for convenience food. Obviously we all know that its not ideal daily but there are times when we need something on the table quickly. The pakora flavoured fish bites in a wrap with some salad (or the salt and vinegar ones) are delicious, salmon and pea Risotto surprisingly good, frozen fish for stews or pies, the range of frozen fruit to throw in porridge is great and there's always a good choice of veg. If we fancy a junky pizza night their takeaway style pizza are great for the price, and I always stock up on Greg's festive bakes at Christmas.

Hivis · 19/08/2021 15:32

The fruits de mer and prawns in sauce. Cook from frozen on the hob and have with pasta. If I was served that in a restaurant I’d be happy
