Inspired by watching El Camino on Netflix... Lots of breaking of burner phones. Literally just snapping them in half... Er I'm sure that doesn't stop your phone being traced.. Surely it's the sim card you need to destroy..
What do you find unrealistic in films or on TV?

The L-shaped bed linens. Covers her to her neck, him to his waist! Remarkable, yet seemingly common in Hollywood.

isthismylifenow · 12/08/2021 20:35

Suits. When they skim read the first page of a 100 page document and they are completely clued up, in about 10 seconds

Flatdisco · 12/08/2021 20:37

Everyone is thin and mostly attractive.

Not finishing drinks

Surprisedpikachu · 12/08/2021 20:37

I always find when someone knocks on a door, it’s always opened immediately, as if someone was just standing behind it. Or if someone wants to tell someone else something in confidence, they move about 4 paces away from the rest of the people in the room - as if the other people wouldn’t be able to hear them!

Sheepareawesome · 12/08/2021 20:37

When a couple wake up in bed together, with clean fresh faces and then have a snog. Whatever happened to bed face and morning breath?!

Twinklettoz · 12/08/2021 20:38

I thought of another one. When people pack suitcases. They literally take all the clothes from the top drawer of the chest.

The Hollywood move. "I see your $100 and I raise you $100."

Wouldn't happen, it's against the rules of poker. It's just for dramatic suspense

BalloonSlayer · 12/08/2021 20:39

I understand about the not saying goodbye on the phone or locking cars, as they skip it to save time, but my bugbears are:

  • empty coffee cups
  • empty suitcases
  • snow that isn't cold
  • people sleeping outside without 5 sleeping bags
  • people falling into water, getting out and not even mentioning that they are freezing cold
Surprisedpikachu · 12/08/2021 20:39

I’ve often noticed as well in American tv programmes the mum will have made a massive luxurious breakfast with pancakes and fruit and the husband or child will come in, drink a sip of juice and leave….such a waste 😂

Twinklettoz · 12/08/2021 20:40

People being rained on and in the immediate next scene they are dry again

When people plan to go out, no one ever discusses time or place, they just magically turn up at the right time and place

MeadowBrown · 12/08/2021 20:41

Children going to bed immediately when required and never misbehaving or protesting.
Never finishing meals.
Never saying hello or goodbye on the phone.
Never having a simple two minute conversation to explain a problem that then goes on to cause untold problems.

BalloonSlayer · 12/08/2021 20:41

In the Silver Chair they sleep outside in the snow with no tent , just some blankets. Then when the snow gets bad they worry they might die but tbh they should have been dead already

Longdistance · 12/08/2021 20:42

Not finishing their wine in a restaurant or bar and running out. Errr, who are these people???

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 12/08/2021 20:42

Everybody looking perfect during sex

Twinklettoz · 12/08/2021 20:43

When there's a fight scene.. 1 man vs 6 he always manages to fight off all 6 men and come out unscathed.

The recent fire in the flat in Coronation Street. Couple of days and they love back in and all the furniture and curtains in the room the fire was are fine? No chance!
When my neighbours had a house fire it was contained to one room and put out within 30 minutes but nothing from the entire upstairs was salvageable due to smoke damage. And the room the fire was in was literally black from floor to ceiling.

3ormorecharacters · 12/08/2021 20:43

@Covetthee I was going to say the same, really bugs me! (Though obviously I can see why they do it as it would be some very boring dialogue.)

Twinklettoz · 12/08/2021 20:43

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit

Everybody looking perfect during sex
Haha yeah definitely no ugly sex faces 😂

Hyggemama · 12/08/2021 20:44

The "just woke up" look (hair been styled meticulously, make up perfect). Also, kids that just go along with everything and are always sweet and kind. Maybe some are, but mine sure ain't.

isthismylifenow · 12/08/2021 20:44

That there is always coffee in the pot, but no one ever makes it.

Danikm151 · 12/08/2021 20:45

Ordering a drink at a bar... they never seem to bloody pay.
Babies being absolutely huge and mom looking like a glowing angel of motherhood.
A family meal with toddlers and everyone is happy 🤣

Standrewsschool · 12/08/2021 20:46

Sex scenes, when the couple are in bed, and the woman still has her bra on, etc

Twinklettoz · 12/08/2021 20:46

When you see someone dial a number from a mobile its either unusually quick or unusually long.
