Unrealistic things you see in films or TV programmes.

Inspired by watching El Camino on Netflix... Lots of breaking of burner phones. Literally just snapping them in half... Er I'm sure that doesn't stop your phone being traced.. Surely it's the sim card you need to destroy..
What do you find unrealistic in films or on TV?

The L-shaped bed linens. Covers her to her neck, him to his waist! Remarkable, yet seemingly common in Hollywood.

When scientists or IT people frantically type at a keyboard to make stuff happen on a screen but never use a mouse

Having a massive house yet the kids alway share a room and if a guest comes they have to sleep on the couch and then in other films they have endless guest rooms for a million people to stay

Making arrangements on the phone but not specifying a time or place!

Wearing shoes in the house, or even when they have come in but like in the morning before they have gone anywhere!

Getting married on Christmas Day! Someone in a soap does, every year!
Surely it's not that easy??

On the massive house subject. Massive houses which are completely implausible for the salary of the person.

Like a copper in a gorgeous detached house with a huge drive and new cars.

When someone is drunk then 5 minutes later are sober again 🤣

Every childbirth scene ever.

There are no toddlers on TV. There are immobile babies and they suddenly transform into 4-5 year olds. Probably because no one wants to work with a toddler.

The only exception I can think of was Raquel in Only Fools and Horses when she had Damian. She was suitably sweaty and shouty

When people in soaps meet in the pub for a drink at lunch before going back to work, if I did that id be tipsy going back into work 😂

Oh God yeah weddings, always take place somewhere really stupid no real person would ever want their wedding, are conducted by a friend, and despite hundreds of guests their families are never there.

Hair dye on men that would have naturally gone grey, always far too dark.

That happens in my industry as normal 😀

You never see people do number twos in soaps either. Always a shower, always a number 1. But never a number two.

Criminal Minds was one of the worst offenders for dark hair dye- I noticed in a few episodes that a few of them had the same hair colour and it looked ridiculous!

So unnatural and unrealistic -

Young children who just sit silently playing for ages while the parents have a discussion about something!

They never put the lights on when they are scared

When something really dramatic or a big argument happens then they get in the car to go home, yet they only discuss the dramatic events as they cross the threshold of the house doorway, what the hell were they talking about in the car?!

Nobody ever gets the hiccups.

Not sure if this counts but CPR. It's mostly absolutely terrible and useless even when the actor is playing a Dr. I end up shouting at the screen a lot. I feel like there's a responsibility to show proper CPR because it might be some peoples only exposure to what it looks like.
