I'll start with skinny co pornstar martini mix. Tasted incredibly sweet and synthetic. It stated use 1 part vodka to 3 parts mix. I tried that too sweet added more vodka so 50/50 just about drinkable. I drank another one with the reverse ratios, almost OK but I was so drunk I fell over and knocked the TV over.

The other downside was that it stank so much so that my empty glass had made the whole room stink.

I have a Shark (not cordless) and it is so heavy that I get a backache every time I use it, hence I don't use it as often as I should.

threatmatrix · 13/08/2021 07:53

It’s vile and full of sweeteners.

Re breast implants when I was dating I kept telling myself but you have healthy breasts why cut them up but the tidal wave of pressure is immense. I had to say this mantra to myself whilst out jogging to convince myself not to go there. I still have to whisper that I am good enough most days( whilst thrashing myself with birch twigs ) The tide of brainwashing of women is inescapable and immense. Don’t blame your younger self .A healthy body is what we all take for granted esp when younger ( ex smoker ) so if you need to have them updated and don’t berate yourself for having gone there. I used to sit on the tube with adverts for them everywhere. Remember all the Hello Boys ads for wonderbra it was like it was the only way a woman could express herself Hmm don’t punish yourself Flowers things are changing I hope ?

Lakeland heated clothes dryer - it's too big and ugly!

Oh god yes! It worked but it was huuuuuuuge! I only live in one room. It filled it. Whenever I needed to go loo I had to push over to one side. I actually don't need it just one of those non electric airers as my room (although I never put the heating on) is always warm and things dry very quickly.

I had to chuck the electric thing in the end (during Covid) so couldn't give to a charity and everyone I tried to foist it on said it was too big!

cariadlet · 13/08/2021 08:51

I'm guessing that the posters who regret buying a spiraliser bought some kind of fancy machine. I have to admit to not using mine since my initial burst of enthusiasm but no regrets.

I got a set of 3 hand held cutters. You choose one, stick it on the end of the carrot or courgette and turn. Simple to use, easy to clean, only a few quid from Lidl and the box is small enough to fit in the corner of a kitchen drawer.

Peanutsandchilli · 13/08/2021 08:52
@Peanutsandchilli then you weren’t putting them on the baby properly. There is a knack to it. We had a few problems at the beginning too but you have to persevere to get used to them as they are definitely different to disposables. Which ones were you using?
I was putting them on the baby properly (not sure how on earth can you not put a nappy on a baby properly?) I used multiple brands with multiple inserts. Mixed and matched most of them to try and find a combination that worked. The main problem was that they stayed wet. The only ones that felt dry were microfibre ones which didn't hold as much. At one point, I had loads of nappies and all possible combinations of inserts set out on the bed, to test how wet they felt. I put a small amount of liquid on each and left them. Some were still wet to touch after a couple of hours. How can anyone let a baby sit in that?! I wanted to like them, I even went back to them after a few months back in disposables, but just couldn't get on with them.

Roxy69 · 13/08/2021 09:04

Henry vac, Dyson vac and air fryer. I would rather have given the money to charity. None of them were worth the expense.
On the other hand I love my tiny silicone scraper- £2 well spent.

labazslovesliving · 13/08/2021 09:06

steam mops easier to get a mop and bucket
cordless hoovers thought would be good with fibro instead of lugging a hoover round nope useless
ice cream maker too much faff easier to go to Tesco for a tub
Bread maker bread ok but big hole in the bottom from the blade useless
ex husbands expensive mistakes

cancancan · 13/08/2021 09:08

We bought a cosatto push chair for DD when she out grew her bug a boo.
I was enticed by the pretty patterns! Bought the Flamingo one, thankfully it was the display model so got a discount but had to buy the foot muff separately as it was missing.
It Was rubbish! Difficult to steer, was rather big when folded. And don't event get me started on the IPad hood! Never used it - never intended too!

A few months after We then went to florida and ordered a cheapo pushchair whilst out there - Walmart $20. It was great! Had one bar handle so easier to push around. Had trays for my stuff and for DD to put snacks, plus it folded down nice and small.

Roxy69 · 13/08/2021 09:14

@Zatapec

Hi, I've been thinking about buying an air fryer, should I not bother? O
Noooooooooooo
Benjispruce5 · 13/08/2021 09:33

Oh yeah the steam mop! Was consigned to the loft. Yeas they do a great job but what a fiddle!! So many different attachments. As a pp said, a quick mop and bucket with hot water does the same job in minutes.

Benjispruce5 · 13/08/2021 09:35

MIL bought us an ice cream maker- the cheaper version that you have to put in the freezer 24 hrs before you want to use it. Makes tiny amounts and takes too much space in the freezer. Charity shop benefitted.

mayaknew · 13/08/2021 09:37

Simba mattress. And the quilt i got with it.

And shark vacuum. So disappointing.

CliffsofMohair · 13/08/2021 09:39

@TillyTopper

Cordless Dyson - dies after 20 mins. I also bought a steam mop but sent it back as the lead was so short I couldn't do even 1/2 room at a time.
Dies after twenty mins AND weighs more than my cat. It’s crap.
StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 13/08/2021 09:41

@Dancingonmoonlight

Memory foam mattress. So uncomfortable for my back. Samsung tablet. Hate it. I need to type on keys and if I want to tap, my phone is far more convenient. Slow cooker. Everything tastes the same from it. Modern design sink in downstairs loo. It is a bad design and water flows from it onto the floor every time it is used. Solid wood floor on hall. It is not suitable for high traffic and looks wrecked after just a few years. Yes I could have it sanded and redone but it shouldn't be necessary to do this already. I would tile it if doing it again. Exercise equipment. It is now old but it has barely been used. Too many clothes/beauty/hair products to mention!
Can you get a bluetooth keyboard for it ? I have one built into a case for my i pad
CherryRipe1 · 13/08/2021 09:50

@Wheresmybiscuit3

A furby
Haha! My dd's 90's Furby malfunctioned & sounded like the demonically possessed girl in "The Excorcist".
Beeinalily · 13/08/2021 10:13

Microwave only food, at regular intervals. I haven't had a microwave oven for over a year!

queenbee72 · 13/08/2021 10:21

@pictish

Steam cleaner - get better results with hot soapy water and a cloth.

The Shark vacuum - like someone else said; faints at anything other than light dust and spits everything back out in a little pile on the floor. Total waste of money. I had to get cumbersome old Henry back out of retirement. Much better.

Really surprised people hate their Shark lift away. Was literally a game changer for me. Had it 2 years and picks up dirt my Henry skated over. It requires maintenance and cleaning each month but I love it! I now also have an Eufy robovac I love.

I don’t have any regretful purchases as I spend so bloody long analysing the use of things before I buy them. Great from a financial point of view but time consuming and brain draining. I’m sure a few off the cuff purchases wouldn’t kill me.

Jaxhog · 13/08/2021 10:22

Mine was a moped. I rode it once or twice and was so terrified, I never used it again. At least it made me pass my car driving test quickly!

PollyDarton1 · 13/08/2021 10:28

@Surprisedpikachu

Apple Watch. Just a bit meh. And it always needs charging
Snap.

Went back to Fitbit and sold the watch!

Malin52 · 13/08/2021 10:31

This fucking house
Most of my clothes
At the time a Dyson heater/cooler for vast quiddage but we've decided its great.

hedgehogsong · 13/08/2021 10:39

Has anyone said Instant Pot yet? I bought one after reading all the rave reviews on here, and its so crap - takes up most of the counter, and is so complicated. Its like a whole different language to understand, what with natural pressure release vs QPR, the PIP cooking etc. Plus the few times I have used it, I've found that things are undercooked at the end of the process so I have to start again. Have just sold it and am going back to using a big pot in the oven!

Kitfish · 13/08/2021 10:40

A boat. Absolute money pit that we rarely used.

Wexone · 13/08/2021 10:42

My one is my sofa, our previouse house's living room was tiny so only fitted a two seater sofa and two singles ( which was also leather) so in our new house we had room for a three seater plus a few chairs and not be on top on each other. Searched the whole country and paid nearly 4k euros for a three seater , two seater sofa plus two queen Ann chairs a foot stool with small cushions to match. It was hand made in Ireland and took nearly 6 months to be delivered. Well here i am 5 years later with not much use ( we don't have children), the legs keep falling off them, some have broken or chipped, cushions have lost their shape and the queen Ann chairs have part of their fabric worn bare. Plus if you put any cup or plate on it it leaves an imprint which takes ages to come out. Himself hates it and threatens to burn it every so often but because it cost so much i wont get rid ( plus would get f all for selling it second hand). The shop where i bought it closed down shortly after so cant do anything. But i didn't expect my set to be falling apart after 5 years of minimal use.
Another one was an air fryer - chips never tasted cooked and took forever, back to a deep fat fryer which sits in the garage
Bought a Henry as everyone raves about it, hated it, it had no suction what so ever and was heavy and cumbersome to move, sold and bought a Miele Hoover , 100 times better
Love my dyson air wrap and my bosch washing machine and tumble dryer

inlimboland · 13/08/2021 11:07

The car
Various dental whitening kits
Dolce gusto coffee machine
A shed that is shit
Some tiles that I don't like
Shark cordless, of course!!
A trendy 'shacket' from Zara that doesn't suit me at all
I could go on.

Will never get a job in procurement, that's for sure Confused. Glad I'm not the only one!
