I'll start with skinny co pornstar martini mix. Tasted incredibly sweet and synthetic. It stated use 1 part vodka to 3 parts mix. I tried that too sweet added more vodka so 50/50 just about drinkable. I drank another one with the reverse ratios, almost OK but I was so drunk I fell over and knocked the TV over.

The other downside was that it stank so much so that my empty glass had made the whole room stink.

@TatianaBis

Hmm I raise you my Miele dishwasher - after a year (just out of guarantee) the control panel went and had to be replaced to the tune of £500.
Ouch, you poor bugger.
TheHoneyBadger · 12/08/2021 20:29

Tamoretti scooter that looks lovely but doesn't even have room to store a helmet under the seat and is impossible to fit a top box on as it has a pointless back rest for an imaginary pillion passenger. There is a reason I always had Honda and there is a reason they are more expensive but worth it.

That's my current one.

Apple desktop that I thought ds would use lots for homework and I would use it for various things but basically it sits collecting dust because ds is a lazy bugger and I am usually on my phone or work laptop.

A Wii console - I was feeing nostalgic for when ds was little and we'd play mario karts and wii sports and stuff together and I have no desire to play killing games on a ps4 - think we used it for a day Blush

Must stop impulse buying.

Littlekittyscupcake · 12/08/2021 20:35

To add to the list. Bugaboo dual pushchair / travel system. It was an ex display model so greatly reduced in price but still £700. I probably used it less than 20 times in total and now have the faff of selling the damn thing because it’s taking up so much space in my garage

me4real · 12/08/2021 20:36

A large weighted blanket. It cost about £80 I think. I have trouble falling to sleep and they're supposed to soothe you. But it just made my legs feel cramped.

ThisAintNoPartyThisAintNoDisco · 12/08/2021 20:37

A futon chair and futon sofa. They always looked like a couple of drunks slumped in the corner. If anyone sat on them they looked even worse. And they weighed a ton dragging them up to straighten out. Gave them away

Thoranddrjones · 12/08/2021 20:39

ElephantCup

Nutri bullet

Really??!! Very surprised to hear that. We use ours almost everyday. Especially in the summer/spring.

me4real · 12/08/2021 20:42

Oh and an ILIFE Robot Vacuum Cleaner that couldn't handle even my very low pile carpet (stuff I read said it could handle that.)

flameycakes · 12/08/2021 20:47

Soup maker, turns out a person can get sick of soup

I've got a bagotte, called boombar, he is very temperamental to say the least
stayathomer · 12/08/2021 20:49

Laiste
Olaplex (i always want to say Opalex)
Nooooo!!!!!! It's on my wish list!! What happened?

TheSunIsStillShining · 12/08/2021 20:58

Most of my make up stuff. I mostly buy Mac, but end up throwing 90% away after 4-5 years as I hardly ever put makeup on anymore.
I only stock up on about 5-6 things every time, but it!s still a waste of money.

Bought a beautiful bass guitar that turned out to have an elongated neck. I am not even 160 cm, so def not my size. Ended up selling it to buy a short scale ibanez that I practice on every day.

murakamilove · 12/08/2021 21:07

Thank you - bought it to be greener, and yes, everything timed in day to run as no expense, we just wanted it to pay for itself & then to buy heat exchanger for central heating.

Halfwreckedbykids · 12/08/2021 21:12

Duilit are grand but not exceptional
Love my new dyson v15 vaccum.
Slow cooker..quicker in oven and nicer.
Ice cream maker...total faff.
Juicer..clean up is a dose.
Love my instant pot but airfryer is crap..my 30 argos deep fat fryer is lush and so easy to clean. During lockdown I was like a chipper for the neighbours.
It's the simple things

dementor72 · 12/08/2021 21:18

Mine was a double pushchair , I bought an expensive “one-in-front-of-the-other” one , all new at the time. I thought it would be easier to push about.
Children18 months apart .
Didn’t realise that the oldest had to go in the front seat and what that meant in terms of weight to push.
I had a Caesarean section : first time I went out and tried to get the thing over a kerb I thought my scar would burst my insides out ….utterly impossible design. Tried again 2 weeks later then sold it for a sixth of the price .
Bought a cheap second hand side-by-side that was brilliant.

Things you wish you'd never bought
Maskless · 12/08/2021 21:25

My food processor. Bought it, unpacked it, put it in the cupboard, where is has been for 5 years. Never used - not even once. :-(

Bertiebiscuit · 12/08/2021 21:38

Breadmaking machine - I only ever managed to turn out housebricks and bits of the mechanism were still embedded in the base of one particularly crap effort, when I tried to get it out of the damned thing - into the dustbin I'm afraid

Lovely13 · 12/08/2021 21:44

Dualit toasters are very pretty, but very useless. I persevere with mine, bought by ex. I now know its evil ways.
Any Dyson vacuum cleaner is also crap. Do not buy. Super Heavy and just don’t clean! Also bought by ex.
My Miele vacuum, however, is the biz. I hate cleaning, but if I’m having to do it, this vac does it. Those Dyson things made me mad with their uselessness,

COPPER3 · 12/08/2021 21:45

Dyson hoovers...yeah, fell for it more than once!
Shark hoovers... " ditto "
Twist & Shape bought in lock down, used twice!
Lakeland floor cleaner £200....heavy, poor battery and just utter shit!
Trinny's wrinkle filler ...made no difference what so ever!
Numerous other ill-made, dysfunctional crap!

Creativenina · 12/08/2021 21:51

Gtech cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. I wanted one for years as I’d tried some one else’s and it worked really well. So I raved about it to my dh. He bought me one last Christmas but it’s rubbish. Hardly any suction compared to my good old Henry.
Over the years bought loads and loads of shoes and sandals. Wore them once and found them not so comfortable so gave them to charity.
Wasted lots of money on clothes that are ill fitting or hardly worn.
In my twenties wasted about £3000 on a dead loss of a boyfriend.

permanentlyexhaustedpigeon · 12/08/2021 21:53

Every product, hair cut or method that claims to reduce frizz, apart from a specific one I found once in a chemist in Brazil.
Tried Curly Girl method.
Tried cowashing.
Tried every frizz-ease serum, gunk and shampoo under the sun.
Tried dry cuts, wet cuts and DIY cuts.
Whatever happens, within an hour or two I'm back to looking like a cross between Alice from Dilbert and an electrocuted sheep.

Alcemeg · 12/08/2021 21:57

@billydilly

Him. He's a Bengal.
@billydilly ooohhhhhhh can I have him? 🥰
Creativenina · 12/08/2021 21:57

I wasted at least £1000 on a few home study courses. Lost interest and the motivation.

thenightsky · 12/08/2021 22:08

@IndieTara

My husband back from another country
You purchased a husband? Shock
AmmarettoSours · 12/08/2021 22:09

The oven

Simply because I now have no excuse not to cook Grin
