MyWaitrose card holders : Do you still get vouchers?

Unfashionable · 04/08/2021 21:00

I have been a regular Waitrose shopper for many years. Pre-pandemic, they regularly sent me vouchers through the post, eg ‘Spend £40 save £5’. They stopped sending them during lockdown for obvious reasons, but I haven’t had any vouchers from them since. Sainsbury’s & Tesco have now started sending out vouchers again, but Waitrose haven’t.

Has anyone had vouchers from Waitrose this year?

Yes I’ve had vouchers, probably about a couple of months ago now.

meadowbleu · 04/08/2021 21:03

I hadn't even thought about it but no. I can't remember the last I had and I shop on line with Waitrose every week.

LizziesTwin · 04/08/2021 21:03

I get them every couple of months for things I regularly buy, eg 50p off butter. Check your marketing options.

No - not at all. I only use it for the self-scan facility

MagnusMagnusson · 04/08/2021 21:03

No. No myJohnLewis vouchers either. Thought perhaps they had reined them all in due to loss of profits during the pandemic. Or maybe I'm just not spending enough money with them now

ssd · 04/08/2021 21:04

I haven't had any for ages either

Blueberrycreampie · 04/08/2021 21:07

I have got vouchers £10.00 off an £80 spend but for online only. 🤷‍♀️

pinkgin85 · 04/08/2021 21:07

Waitrose card is virtually useless, I've stopped scanning it at checkout now

ssd · 04/08/2021 21:13

Dont you still get a free newspaper and a coffee?

SOT3 · 04/08/2021 21:14

Does anyone know if they will be bringing the free cup of coffee back with the My Waitrose card?'

DoubleTweenQueen · 04/08/2021 21:19

I sobbed about the coffee - ruined my Christmas 7am shop & coffee run last year :D

Unfashionable · 04/08/2021 21:59

Thanks, everyone. It sounds like I’m not alone in having been forgotten by Waitrose’s marketing department. Checking my marketing preferences is definitely worth a try.

The coffee machine is still in place in my local store, but out of use. Presumably, if they intended to remove free coffee permanently, they would have binned it.

I pay for everything, use my Waitrose card, my husband gets the vouchers, the checkout people let me use them though.

36degrees · 04/08/2021 22:13

I've had two lots this summer but the spend threshold is about £30-40 over what we usually spend, so no good, really.

DdJames · 04/08/2021 22:13

I got sent them the last couple of months after not having them for ages. Had £8 off £40 then £10 off of £50 and I've just been sent £11 off £70. I don't spend that much so won't be using those ones. I'm hoping when I don't use them I'll get some more of the £40/£50 ones.

LadyPoison · 04/08/2021 22:14

Yes but not the big ones any more - it's just £1 or 50p off things I actually do buy regularly.

AppleWatched · 04/08/2021 22:20

I've never had vouchers. I've checked my preferences regularly and everything. I get a marketing survey from Waitrose every 6 weeks, asking the same questions about whether I'm feeling like a valued MyWaitrose customer, am I enjoying my 5% off dry cleaning, etc, and I keep saying NO I AM NOT but nary a squeak from them in response...

PropertyFlipper · 04/08/2021 22:21

I got vouchers for £22 a few months ago and more recently ones for about £7.

NanTheWiser · 04/08/2021 22:26

Yes, a couple of months ago. £7 off £70 iirc, but living alone I don’t usually spend that much, so stock up on regular buys to make the limit, and only use 1 or 2 of the 6 vouchers sent.

Tibtab · 04/08/2021 22:27

Don’t get any for Waitrose or John Lewis anymore

bookbook · 04/08/2021 22:28

I got some about 2 months ago . They came a week after a big shop , and was a kick in the teeth as we had to spend £200 . I was quite annoyed , it almost seemed deliberate . And the stuff that was missing that we normally buy was disappointing to say the least ( only go about every 2 months or so)

RainingYetAgain · 04/08/2021 22:31

No, none same for JL. Shop there most weeks and done JL on line during lockdowns.

TooStressyTooMessy · 04/08/2021 22:32

We have had vouchers through the post.

Oudhe · 04/08/2021 22:34

I haven’t used them in 18 months as I couldn’t get a slot. However they sent me some £12 off £60 a couple of weeks ago.

John Lewis however have been rather sneaky! In the first lockdown they emailed to say that the cake and coffee vouchers would be kept/saved for when the stores opened again. However, now the cafes are open, the vouchers have been taken away. (And to make matters worse, they haven’t even sent any new ones, either). My friend works in John Lewis and apparently a lot of people have been disgruntled and have even been showing the staff the email saying that the vouchers would be available to use!

CrazylazyJane · 04/08/2021 22:39

I was just thinking this today. I haven't had any vouchers in months but my mum has. I won't take it personally Hmm

I wonder if they don't bother sending vouchers to those who shop regularly and just ping them out to the customers who seem on the edge of going to a different supermarket? I might have to play hard to get Grin
