I couldn’t think of anything I wanted for tea so just had beans on toast for the first time in months and thoroughly enjoyed it.

How often do you have beans on toast and when was the last time?

(Dc don’t like it for some reason.)

Couple of times a year. I had it a few weeks ago, toasted bagel and beans, delicious! My DH likes his with grated cheese mixed in to the beans.

milcal · 01/08/2021 19:58

Last time was at lunch today and I would normally have it once every three weeks. It's a tasty quick meal.

toffeeandcream · 01/08/2021 19:58

I had it yesterday for lunch, brown bread toast and a bit grated mature cheddar on top Smile

Thesearmsofmine · 01/08/2021 19:58

Never, I hate beans!
DH & DC have it maybe once every couple of months or so.

Olny · 01/08/2021 20:00

About a month ago. I love beans on toast. For me it has to be thick sliced white bread, toasted and buttered. Beans, lots of black pepper! Not very healthy, but so tasty.

mummyof2boys30 · 01/08/2021 20:01

If beans, cheese and red onion toastie counts. Today and yesterday. With brown sauce. 😋 Have it a couple of times a week normally

Newchances · 01/08/2021 20:02

About 2 weeks ago. I have it about once or twice a month

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 01/08/2021 20:03

Yesterday, and went premium and had beans with sausages! I love simple meals like that or scrambled egg on toast.

Breathmiller · 01/08/2021 20:03

I had it as part of a cooked brunch so not sure it counts. But I love beans on toast and would happily have it more often for a light dinner but I'm not sure the others would.

I also love posh beans...
Chopped onion, chillies, peppers, mushrooms. Cook down for a bit and add beans. Add in loads of coriander. On toast. I still add HP sauce though.

Takingabreakagain · 01/08/2021 20:04

Yesterday with grated cheese on too. Before that it was probably a month ago

Floralnomad · 01/08/2021 20:04

Never I can’t stand baked beans . Dh has it occasionally but he usually has something with it like scrambled egg .

Marmite27 · 01/08/2021 20:04

A while for me but DC1 had it Saturday morning.

Level75 · 01/08/2021 20:04

10 minutes ago! With cheese on top and scrambled eggs on the side.

AnneLovesGilbert · 01/08/2021 20:06

Two weeks ago. It was a last minute thing as we’d been out. It was so good we’ve resolved to do it again much more often and to plan it in.

I’m dubious about cheese as an addition.

But I am considering marmite on the toast under the beans. Is this wise?

5togo · 01/08/2021 20:06

Not keen on cheese on the top myself.

I just add Worcester sauce.

Crockof · 01/08/2021 20:08

Cheese on top and Worcestershire sauce, probably weekly

MauveMavis · 01/08/2021 20:08

I have it about once a month as a quick dinner or big lunch.

Real comfort food. I like HP sauce on mine.

SirenSays · 01/08/2021 20:09

Never, beans are the devil's powdery little minions. I still have six tins that I got as supermarket substitutions that I'm trying to get rid of.

MonkeyPuddle · 01/08/2021 20:12

We have it weekly, usually for a quick tea on our busy evening. We love it.
Between the 4 of us (DP, me, 4yo and 9mo) we have two tins of beans and 5 slices of toast, I toast the bread and then break it up into chunks and stir it though the beans in the pan so it soaks up the bean sauce. Topped with sprinkled cheese.

PurpleDaisies · 01/08/2021 20:13

Yesterday. I usually have it a couple of times a week.

Seafog · 01/08/2021 20:14

Ah, the old Sally Webster special!
About once a year, I'd say....
I love baked beans, not so much the store ones

NeedNewKnees · 01/08/2021 20:16

At least weekly for breakfast, with a poached egg on top. Usually with a chilli sauce like Encona, occasionally with a bit of cheese.

lillylemons · 01/08/2021 20:17

A couple of weeks ago No-one else wanted any so I had the whole tin to myself.

MrsDThomas · 01/08/2021 20:17

Often. 2-3 times a week. If i don’t fancy a big tea (well i never eat a huge tea) i have beans on toast with a hot cup of tea.
