Not sure if there is already a thread on this but I'll be interested to see the outcome of this case:

I suppose it cat be one rule for men and another for women - however it's absolutely ridiculous that there are men who do a lot worse than slapping a woman's arse and nothing comes of it, let alone going to court about it.

Jesus, the amount of men that would have been arrested for doing this a few years ago and before...

IcedSpice · 30/07/2021 18:53

That site is fucking unreadable!

Based on your post, why not? If a man did it to a woman, it would be assault, so why not the other way round

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 30/07/2021 18:57

@Michaelknightsleatherjacket i agree...

Orf1abc · 30/07/2021 18:57

One looks like a man.

What?!?!

WeRTheOnesWeHaveBeenWaitingFor · 30/07/2021 19:05

I’m not sure it’s exactly the same. Was this man in fear of serious sexual assault? Did he worry for his life? Was it part of a pattern of life-long oppression and micro aggressions because of his sex?

NetballHoop · 30/07/2021 19:08

I'm all in favour of this as long as every case that happens to a woman gets the same attention

Does he have to qualify on all counts or is one enough?
WineAcademy · 30/07/2021 19:15

I think an equal application of the law for all similar cases is a justified response to this one.

Blue4YOU · 30/07/2021 19:15

I agree @netballHoop!
Thing is unless they CCTV evidence the police do very little with sexual assault cases.
And even then…

EishetChayil · 30/07/2021 19:15

With so many "female" criminals actually being blokes, this makes me wonder...

Theunamedcat · 30/07/2021 19:19

I've had worse done to me reported it and the police did nothing

Staffy1 · 30/07/2021 19:36

@Michaelknightsleatherjacket

Are they women? One looks like a man.
Can only see a picture of one who doesn’t particularly look like a man.
PegasusReturns · 30/07/2021 19:45

I’m not sure I agree that men and women should be treated the same in cases like this.

A man smacking a women on the bum is different to a woman smacking a man on the bum. It just is. The fear of escalation, dominance and power is missing.

NekoShiro · 30/07/2021 20:28

Are people seriously suggesting this woman is actually a man? m.facebook.com/scarlett.bareham/albums/104332846392131/

What? You want sexual assault to be taken seriously, or you don’t. Of course they should be treated the same.

@Orf1abc
What part of
LOOKS LIKE A MAN don’t you understand?
I’m wondering if these ‘women’ are in fact, MEN?!
They look to me like a pair of men. I wonder if that’s why the victim was so keen to press charges“

Are you booking at the photos that apply to the report or the two men further down relating to a different story?

I can only see one photo with this story, a blonde haired woman with glasses in a white top. No photo of the other.

This was two women not a woman, they aren't tiny little things so I would imagine a man might fear what they are going to do. Either way people should keep their hands to themselves.
DefinitelyNotAHastyNameChange · 30/07/2021 20:58

And yet the man who raped me, left me with injuries severe enough to require hospital treatment and write to me apologising for raping me wasn’t even brought in for questioning. A teenager slaps a bloke on the arse and she’s in court though. Sounds about right.

SirenSays · 30/07/2021 21:03

I can't go to a club on a Saturday night without getting groped. The way this country deals with sexual assault is a joke. Always double standards

ancientgran · 30/07/2021 21:15

There's obviously more to it, one of them is also charged with affray and a third woman charged with affray and ABH in relation to another woman.

I don't think this is just two women walking past someone and slapping his behind - not that it is OK to do that.

Michaelknightsleatherjacket · 30/07/2021 21:16

When 95% of rape cases in the uk fail to secure a conviction, it certainly feels like double standards.

ancientgran · 30/07/2021 21:22

I suppose the headline 19 Year old woman arrested for ABH, two others arrested for slapping man on the behind wouldn't be quite so eye catching. Fitting in the affray would make it even harder.

I hope the woman who was attacked and suffered ABH is OK.
