Aldi sell Peppa lollies with a huge cock

🤣 Someone in the ‘lolly design department’ has to be having a laugh with that. 😅

Toesies · 28/07/2021 00:52

@ErrolTheDragon

Yes but Australia call sweets "lollies". Noting to do with ice.

We have lollies which aren't iced, things like chuppa chups. It's the presence of the stick which is the necessary qualification for being a lolly.

Ah, but you can a lolly without the presence of a stick. Eg. spearmints, fruit gums, raspberries ...

Toesies · 28/07/2021 00:54
@Toesies mmmm lemonade icy poles.

Did you not say ice block at all? Maybe it’s a state variation. I’m from NSW.
I grew up in Victoria, so that could explain it!

Nor in England you can't.

No, i understand that ... Country differences are fascinating.

I’m absolutely incensed that a Rocket is considered better that a magnum and also that a Jubbly is considered the same as a Magnum
😂 Who on Earth did this report? Do they even have tastebuds/a brain?

Sparklingbrook · 28/07/2021 06:07

Rocket lollies are weak squash on a stick.

I am eating a Feast, which is all the fault of this thread.

TheGonnagle · 28/07/2021 12:43

But what about the calippo? How does anyone cope with a hangover without a calippo?

Sparklingbrook · 28/07/2021 12:44

I have been to Iceland. There was way too much choice. But the worst bit is I forgot the Funny Feet. Angry Angry

I got Drumstick lollies and Callipos, but I'll have to go back. Hmm

The rubbish there is far too tempting...Blush

Sparklingbrook · 28/07/2021 17:44

They even have sweets, chocolate and alcopops at the checkouts. Shock

Yes, its a throwback to days gone by.

ssd · 28/07/2021 19:47

The man on the till at our local one still stays with his mum in 50s and knows all the old dears names. They love him. I find it quite sweet.

Wakip · 28/07/2021 19:48

That is so wrong, fab is the best lolly along with nobblt bobblies rockets are crap

AmyDudley · 28/07/2021 20:54

That's not a proper rocket is it ? I thought they were red yellow and orange; that's some kind of defective rocket, possibly Apollo 13.
Anyway - Magnum, Cornetto and Fab on the top, Mini milk on the bottom ('I must have a mini milk' said no one ever.) And Twister in the bin.

On a side note - Iceland sell Parma Violet ice lollies. What warped mind thought of taking the nasty sweet known to man (tastes like the inside your great great Grandma's handbag) and turning it into the most disgusting lolly in the world?

EBearhug · 28/07/2021 22:56

Parma violets are fab, and last night, I discovered there's a whole collection of recipes using parma violets as ingredients.

ssd · 28/07/2021 23:24

I hope Iceland is giving mn a kickback for all the advertising they are getting here Grin

Standrewsschool · 29/07/2021 20:56

As a direct result of this thread, I have just brought this box of ice lollies from the supermarket. It occurred to me that I’ve never (or not for a very, very long time) had a Nobbly Bobbly.

Magnums should be on the top tier.

Rocket, fruit pastille, - middle tier as they’re everyday ice creams

Cornetto is not an ice lolly but an ice cream. I can remember when I first had a Cornetto - in one of the London parks when I was young (70s). It was considered an adult or posh icecream.

Similarly, jubblies and calippos aren’t lollies either - no stick.

Well I'm not sure this is right with regard to ice lollies...
SirenSays · 29/07/2021 21:30

Mini milk and the magnums can go into god tier, the rest can go in the bin! Zaps and feasts should absolutely be on here!

Ooooh I love that selection box.

This seems a bit swayed towards the 1990s of lollies.

MrsClatterbuck · 30/07/2021 00:46

I just want a plain orange ice lolly. The only place I can get one is M&S. Not sure if I could buy a box and get them the 7 miles home to my freezer. They have a freezer in store where they are sold separately. Can't even get an orange Calippo.

MrsClatterbuck · 30/07/2021 00:49

My dn from over the pond calls them popsicles.

35andThriving · 31/07/2021 22:26

This is completely unacceptable. Totally inaccurate.
