No idea how I got stop rather than first.Confused

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2021 12:22

Has anyone watched Normal People?
Connell asks Marianne 'Do you want an ice cream?' goes to the ice cream van and comes back with two rocket lollies. Shock it was the most disturbing bit of the whole 12 episodes and a huge red flag IMO. Angry

But where are the calippos?? They were my favourite as a kid! And strawberry splits (now mivvis I think?) I like a good strawberry cornetto, or those watermelon ones where the “seeds” are chocolate chips..

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2021 12:45

Tesco and Waitrose for Calippos.

I love those Watermelon ones too.

This is all wrong. Magnum and Cornetto at the top.

I ordered Snickers ice cream bars - one box. And the replacement item was 2 tubs of Snickers ice cream. I can’t imagine it…

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2021 12:54

Ignore me @Sprig1, I thought you meant the picture, but yes the bottom row should be the top. Grin

Does anyone over the age of about 3 like a Mini Milk?
As long as I can four of the at once. One is pointless!

Rockbird · 27/07/2021 13:01

Solero is on a special tier right at the top. Then Twisters, Feasts and Icebergers (Irish) next tier down. After that I don't care Grin

icelollies · 27/07/2021 13:02

mini twisters, mini magnums and fruit pastille lollies are top tier in our house! I think DS wouldn’t even look at a mini milk.

When I was a kid, i just loved those funny feet and the icecreams in a plastic cone with a gobstopper at the bottom.

i need to keep away from those drum stick ice lollies though - they look moreish!

HarebrightCedarmoon · 27/07/2021 13:09

Top tier, on it's own, is a Lotus Biscoff. Next tier down is Aldi Salted Caramel, Almond Magnum, original Magnum and White Magnum. Next tier is refreshing lollies like Pineapple Mivvi, Solero, Lemonade lollies and Valencia orange. Bottom tier (just about acceptable) are Fruit Pastilles and Rocket Lollies.

All other lollies needn't bother AFAIC. Twisters, Feasts, Fabs etc are a waste of calories.

HarebrightCedarmoon · 27/07/2021 13:14

@Toesies

Sorry to derail slightly, but I find it weird that people in the UK call such things 'ice lollies'. In Australia we call them ice creams which seems more sensible, given that they usually contain cream that is, indeed, icy.

However, one of our favourite ice creams is this, so perhaps we can't claim to be experts.

Yes but Australia call sweets "lollies". Noting to do with ice.

A screwball. A fine choice. Grin

Those Drumstick ones are £1.29 for 4 in Home Bargains. Wink

Cornetto and Fruit Pastille should be promoted to God tier, at the expense of Solero & Twister. They need binning.
