What do you get from the Chinese takeaway?

We're getting Chinese food tonight and I've realised we always get the same thing. So, what else can I get?

Chinese order:
Chicken and Sweetcorn soup (me)
Smoked shredded chicken (DP)
Crispy duck with pancakes
Chicken in black bean sauce
Beef with mushrooms
Sweet and sour chicken balls
Special fried rice
Chicken chow mean or Singapore rice noodles
Sometimes either crispy chilli beef or chicken in yellow bean sauce and sometimes chicken satay skewers or dumplings if we want leftovers for lunch.

What's your order?

Surely ordering a bit too much and have some the next day is standard !?

I like satay, veg spring rolls, lemon chicken, egg fried rice, duck chow mein, crispy duck pancakes. Crispy chilli beef and Kung bo chicken.

Never all of that together as it's just me!

Special fried rice
Special chow mein
Spare Ribs in BBQ sauce
Salt and Pepper Chicken wings

I then have lunch and dinner the next day with the leftovers - I'm the only one in my house that eats chinese so I don't get it often

But you get that from a starter, main and chips or rice anyway. You can't fit it all on one plate for a start. If you're going for multiple mains per person, it's going to last for days.

Oh now I'm in the mood for Chinese! My faves are,
King prawn or beef chow mein
Crispy shredded chicken with peking sauce and fried rice
Prawn toast
Dumplings
Salt and pepper chips
Sometimes banana fritters.

No. 1 is Hot and sour soup - still trying to find the best in Edinburgh, suggestions welcome
Crispy seaweed always a winner
Large spring rolls
Prawn toast - but only from the one place where they are really chunky, soft and nom rather than deep fried bread

Chow Mein with extra veg
Chicken with cashews in yellow bean sauce
Chicken Kung Po
Beef with mushrooms

Deep fried stuff in balls with sweet sour jam sauce is just not a good idea. Tasty with a side of regret.

Wow that’s a big order, is it for two people? Doesn’t the soup fill/bag you up?

Starter: Salt and pepper Chicken (this can be v hit and miss)

Boiled rice

Every single time!

But now I go to Slimming World so it would just be the rice!

Stir fried mushrooms (me)
Chips and noodles box (me and DD) with S&S sauce (DD) or vegetable chow mein (DD) and large chips (all)
Freebie prawn crackers and spring rolls / curry samosas

I always have - BBQ roast pork and mushrooms with rice. DP has schezuan chilli pork with salt and pepper chips. If we're feeling fancy sometimes we get bao buns or crispy chilli beef to share as a starter! Mmmm really fancy a Chinese now

Had a Chinese takeaway on Friday, between 2 of us we had salt & pepper squid, Cantonese spring rolls, chicken & cashew nuts and egg fried rice

Sea salt aubergine is absolutely delicious, very saucy so have with rice. Well worth a try!

We also get the same thing. We are having Chinese tomorrow night as DP is away with friends and left us money to treat ourselves. So for me and the kids it’s

Egg fried rice (DS. 13 has asd and won’t eat rice with peas, this is the one he loves)
Peking duck
Bbqed ribs
Roast pork
Salt and chilli prawns
Beef in black bean
Roast duck with mushrooms
Satay chicken

If DP is here we get
crispy shredded beef
Roast duck aswell...

Sometimes I change the beef for prawns or get chicken and sweet and sour Hong Kong style ....

Anything left minus the rice I eat for lunch the next day 😊

Ooh I really want a Chinese now.

We get mushroom chow mein and chips (me) beef curry and sweet and sour chicken balls (DP) plus egg fried rice and fried seaweed (to share). 4 year old daughter has a bit of everything!

Dp and I and two dc. Chinese is usually my first choice for take away.

I love a hot and sour soup with spring rolls dipped in or duck pancakes from starters menu with scallops as my chinese does lovely ones.
When my mum is here we get pork yuk sung with fried noodles to share.
Main alone is fillet beef in black pepper sauce with yung chow fried rice or duck wit peanuts or chicken kung po.

Kids are boring as fuck - chicken balls with chips and curry sauce. Every time.

Dumplings, salt and chilli prawns, chow mein, curry, prawns in cashew yellow bean sauce and crispy chilli beef usually. I do like the duck pancakes though and all the soups but rarely get one.

We get the same thing every time OP.

I love a Chinese. 😋
We usually get a chicken chow mein, special fried rice & chicken balls.
Occasionally I might add beef chili.
