I've just been rescued

By DH from my new sports bra Blush
I've joined a gym and bought a, what I thought was my size, bra from Matalan earlier.
It's a racer back and I couldn't get out of it. I nearly throttled myself.
I may as well just put it on and off to burn calories and cancel the gym Hmm

You’re not the only one who’s been there Blush

I feel your pain though as it’s a regular occurrence here

mindutopia · 25/07/2021 16:46

Nearly dislocate my shoulder every time. Blush

Sideorderofchips · 25/07/2021 16:47

Yep they are utter bastards to get off. I contemplate scissors alot of the time but I would probably end up cutting myself 🤷‍♀️

Oh I thought it must be too small.
I didn't know it was A Thing.

Don't, whatever you do, tumble dry it by mistake. It will come out small enough to fit Barbie.

I tumble dried my new sports bra
And now it stretches not as far
It no longer holds my lady jelly
Which sit forlornly on my belly.

Gerwurtztraminer · 25/07/2021 17:04

Oh its definitely at Thing. Those over the head crop top styles are for flat chested contortionists only. I don't know what cup size you are but anything over a B cup and they trap and squash the boobs something awful both going on and off. No support for anything remotely bouncy either.

You need a proper hook & eye fastening sports bra with normal back & cup sizing.

Sewaccidentprone · 25/07/2021 17:06

That happened with a tight dress I was trying on in the changing rooms. It was a size smaller than the hanger tag and I thought I’d just have to buy it and cut it off at home. Fortunately dh managed to tug it over my head with no damage to me or the dress Grin

It can be a complete ‘mare sometimes.

BabbleBee · 25/07/2021 17:08

Biggest part of any workout / run is getting out of the damned sports bra afterwards…

Yes I was still bouncing a lot bit. I know this because I was jumping around nearly having a tantrum while DH pissed himself laughing at my plight.

I now have one which zips up the front, so no more wrestling with my clothing!

SisterMonicaJoansHabit · 25/07/2021 17:11

My preferred lump supports are one pieces. And I get stuck on the way in, and sometimes on the way out.

I've decided a way to use my elbows to stretch it so it goes over me without touching the main part of my body. Only way I can get them on. Specially when I'm unable to get properly dry after a shower because of the humidity.

Spudlet · 25/07/2021 17:11

DH had to rescue me from mine once too. I’m alright in winter when I don’t get as sweaty, but after a sweaty summer run I have a dreadful time escaping from the bastard bloody thing! And I only have itty bitty titties, and I do yoga and have really flexible shoulders… Shock

Cocolapew · 25/07/2021 17:12

@Sewaccidentprone I feel through the curtain into a shop floor once trying to get out of a dress.
I honestly must think I'm much thinner than I actually am.

I feel your pain!
The almost same happened to me, but it was in a change room at a thrift store.

I tried to take off a dress, got it three quarters of the way off, and got stuck with my elbows pined to the sides of my face, fabric twisted and fighting around my throat!
I called out for dh, thank God the door was not sturdy, and he untrussed me. The whole time muttering, "How do you do these things to yourself, all the time? Can't take you anywhere!"

I had a moment this morning when I thought I was going to be stuck in my sports bra.

I had to struggle on because the only other person at home was 17yo DS and I didn't want to subject him to helping me!

Soubriquet · 25/07/2021 17:20

Oh you so remind me of this hilarious woman

The zip bit popped off mine whilst at the gym! That style no good for me either!
QueenofLouisiana · 25/07/2021 17:25

I’ve (frequently) had this. Not helped by the fact that I get panicky and sweaty. Even harder to get off slightly tacky skin.

emmathedilemma · 25/07/2021 17:28

I nearly had to take the scissors to one last week, honestly thought I was stuck or going to have to dislocate a shoulder to get it off! Being incredibly sweaty wasn’t helping 🥵

theheartofthematter · 25/07/2021 17:32

The thing is that they are hard to get on but then with the added sweat they are just impossible to get off. I have a couple of zip up ones but I still have to put them on as a crop top because my generous norms can not be tamed into them to be zipped up 😱
