I'd like to see a faithful rendering of The Little Princess and series based on the life of Maya Angelou and the life and times of Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Love the sound of all of those!

I would have liked a series of Hunted which wasn't so obviously fake. The first series the faking wasn't so obvious and I loved it but I guess it wasn't dramatic enough. It all made me think it's pretty easy to disappear in this country.

And I would love a documentary made by somebody really good about an adult literacy class.

I’d just like Colin’s Sandwich to be recommissioned. It was awesome.

A really good version of the Shardlake books.

Good one!

A fly on the wall about a local parish council might be interesting.

A remake of Flambards to include the last book.

JMAngel1 · 21/07/2021 22:21

I would love the Elly Griffiths Ruth Galloway Series - hard to understand why someone hasn't snapped it up.

KillingMeDeftly · 21/07/2021 22:23

the life and times of Eleanor of Aquitaine

Yes to this, preferably based on Elizabeth Chadwick's Eleanor trilogy.

There is a series being filmed with Jane Seymour as Eleanor but I think she's just a subsidiary character in it. Her mother in law is played by none other than Joan Collins!

littledrummergirl · 21/07/2021 22:24

The Chronicles of Narnia, all seven books. I would love to see these being made faithfully to the books.

Butterchunks · 21/07/2021 22:27

The midnight library. After the first series following the book storyline I'd love to see more seasons following different people and their experiences

Hawdyerwheesht · 21/07/2021 22:35

Georgette Heyer novels Smile

Buttybach · 21/07/2021 22:37

Rivers of London.

Harry Potter or based in JK Rowlings world.

I'M DESPERATE FOR THIS.

I hope some bright spark at Netflix has the same idea. They have pots of cash so could surely make a decent fist of it.

DPotter · 21/07/2021 22:41

I've got suggestions for which actors for the main roles too if you're interested....

DorotheaDiamond · 21/07/2021 22:41

Def georgette heyer!

Also Anne McCAfferey pern books!

SnakeyTakey · 21/07/2021 22:43

OP, I remember reading somewhere a while ago that someone was working on a script for a new version of A Little Princess. But I suppose these things can be shelved or put on hold indefinitely. It's one of my faves though. I'd like to re-watch the series that starred Maureen Lipman as Miss Minchin.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 21/07/2021 22:45

The Rivers of London series is going to be made into a tv series.

I would love to see The Lymond Chronicles and a Blakes 7 reboot.

CeaselessWatcher · 21/07/2021 22:48

A proper Box of Delight-style faithful adaptation of The Dark is Rising series. On the BBC. I don’t have Netflix or any of that stuff. To start with The Dark is Rising, aired over the Christmas period. In the summer we will have Over Sea Under Stone. I know that one comes first, but the Dark is Rising works better as the first series I think. Then all the others.

It can be brought into the modern age, I don’t mind that. But keep everything else. And for the love of God don’t make Will American or cast Lovejoy as Merriman.
