That doesn't involve standing over the oven? I'm melting in my office and not looking forward to cooking tea later...

I have popped a shop brought quiche in microwave with salad last Friday.

Pizza and wedges oven on for 25 mins whilst back door open. We ate it in the garden on Monday.

We all had a takeaway on Saturday after child played in 45 over cricket match that went on for almost 6 hours in heat.

I have some Bolognese sauce in freezer with added peppers and onion so I will defrost and just cook a bit of pasta and top with cheese for tonight.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 20/07/2021 16:03

Grilling some beef koftas tonight, served with flatbreads and salad.

I steam the tiny new potatoes and slather in butter and chives-can be done in morning when it's cooler and eat cold or just take chill off in microwave if you want warm-ish
HotHointheavo · 20/07/2021 16:09

DH has requested bread and cheese! Who am I to argue!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 20/07/2021 16:09

*and sea salt-most important

garlictwist · 20/07/2021 16:24

I haven't bothered. Had a cheese sandwich for there days in a row now. I have no appetite when it's hot.

AuntieStella · 20/07/2021 16:27

BBQ

DS2's idea, and he says I'm not to pre-cook any of the meat in the oven as I do normally.

This could take forever!

Ninkanink · 20/07/2021 16:27

I really fancy a ploughman’s lunch, actually. Might swap that out for one of the others.

coogee · 20/07/2021 16:30

and sea salt-most important

Isn’t that just the same as ordinary salt, just with added desiccated fish poo?

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 20/07/2021 16:33

@coogee thanks for the proper laugh! Grin

actually the flakes are bigger but sounds all rather pretentious now

PattyPan · 20/07/2021 16:38

We are having couscous, falafel, salad, and I will make some tzatziki with dairy-free yoghurt if I can be bothered. Couscous only needs to sit in hot water for a while so basically no cooking involved.

supersop60 · 20/07/2021 16:39

Grilled Halloumi and salad this evening. Hotdogs yesterday.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 20/07/2021 16:40

spag bol.
luckily our kitchen is north facing and has great ventilation so with all windows open it's not torturous to cook, heatwise.
but I'm not sure if I have energy to stand!

so it but it might just be cereal or nutella sandwiches

@peaceanddove that’s absolute genius.
Will be trying this at some point in the incredibly close future, probably with the addition of a slice of smoked bacon or some kind of ham too.
What type of cheese do you recommend? I feel like Swiss could work well here.

jinglejangle6 · 20/07/2021 17:00

@Ninkanink your meal plan looks fabulous, as a novice cook I’m inspired!

Ninkanink · 20/07/2021 17:02

@jinglejangle6 thank you! I always get lots of inspiration from these threads too.

thegreylady · 20/07/2021 17:02

TwoZeroTwoZero · 20/07/2021 17:03
