DH sent my son to school with cat food in his lunchbox

Blush

I was feeling ill yesterday so stayed in bed and DH sorted the morning routine.

He packed DS lunch box and instead of putting a frube yog in his lunch he gave him a lick-e-lix cat yogurt that I buy for my rats and keep in the fridge for hot days. Both in long tubes but different shelves

Poor DS opened it too but didn't eat any. He smelled it way before it got bear his mouth, salmon flavour 😂😂

Poor kid 😂

Bet the rats would love a frube though!!

wjg65ka · 10/07/2021 11:53

Hahahaha aww this gave me a giggle

30degreesandmeltinghere · 10/07/2021 11:58

Op can I ask where your rat cage is situated in your home? Keen to get some but worry the only place we have suitable is a bit draughty!!

DeadButDelicious · 10/07/2021 12:00

Awwwww! 😂😂

I think we may need to see some pictures of your rats also, thank you please.

WeAreTheHeroes · 10/07/2021 12:02

I thought you meant DH had been deliberately cruel rather than he'd made a mistake!

Comedycook · 10/07/2021 12:05

I'm sure I read somewhere that all pet food sold in the UK has to be fit for human consumption? Or have I just totally made that up?!

topcat2014 · 10/07/2021 12:07

@comedycook I think that too

NothingIsWrong · 10/07/2021 12:08

I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt him but salmon flavour yogurt would have been horrific to taste...

Gardentiger · 10/07/2021 12:09

Noooo you can't start this thread without posting a pic of the poor rattos who have missed out on their delicious snack! We demand rat tax!

GreyhoundG1rl · 10/07/2021 12:09

Keeping rat food in the family fridge is grim.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/07/2021 12:09

🤣🤣

kid's got street smarts.

Not a mistake your husband will make again I'm sure.

30degreesandmeltinghere · 10/07/2021 12:13

We have frozen mice in the family freezer..
They come in proper bags. Not disguised as a fish finger!

Get outta town!

We had ratties for decades and their non biscuit food was always kept in the fridge. Mainly because it was our food too.

Had there been the option if a ratty tube of delicious stuff back then that too would have been kept in the fridge.

Now we have a dog and his defrosted pet mince is also kept in the fridge, spooned using normal spoons, cleaned using normal kitchen sponges. Mainly because it is human food too, just mixed in ways I am not sure I'd want to taste - beef and green tripe for example.

OrchestraOfWankery · 10/07/2021 12:39

I need to see your ratties!

FuckUcuntychops · 10/07/2021 12:54

Cats or rats OP? Fucking hilarious though poor kid.

MathsFail · 10/07/2021 18:15

They're nothing grim about it. They're sealed tubes of runny cat food 😂 and they eat one at a time so they never go back in after the rats have touched them.

But if you think that's grim I put my refrigerated raw dog food in the family fridge shockgrin

Anyways, they are for cats, but I have RATS smile

3 boys and they're wonderful

They are cat treats- same pouch as a frube. It's only salmon!
30degreesandmeltinghere · 10/07/2021 18:21

Ah so envious! I had 3 brother rats as a dc-loved them!!

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 10/07/2021 18:21

@MathsFail oh they’re gorgeous! Brilliant set up for them too, do they fight at all?

At least he didn’t eat it 😂 and he’s got a good sense of smell- no Covid 👍

Yes they fight, but only playfighting. Nothing serious. Just play wrestling.

They don't bite. Are very clean and loving. They love cuddles and are very smart

I don't know why my emojis aren't working. Probably because I'm too old to use them.
