DH sent my son to school with cat food in his lunchbox

I was feeling ill yesterday so stayed in bed and DH sorted the morning routine.

He packed DS lunch box and instead of putting a frube yog in his lunch he gave him a lick-e-lix cat yogurt that I buy for my rats and keep in the fridge for hot days. Both in long tubes but different shelves

Poor DS opened it too but didn't eat any. He smelled it way before it got bear his mouth, salmon flavour 😂😂

This happened to me! My nephew is a chef and my Dad was letting me try a few things he made.

The pink looking strawberry mousse was in fact, salmon mousse.

It's true.

The husband of a friend of mine took posh cat food for his lunch several days running - the sort with whole prawns in. He enjoyed it.

Wasn't there a couple in the news staying in France recently that asked their children for more of the 'posh French pate' they left in their covid care package. Which was actually cat food!

I've eaten the 'salmon ice cream cones' at the Fat Duck, and you are correct (sorry Heston).

They're nothing grim about it. They're sealed tubes of runny cat food 😂 and they eat one at a time so they never go back in after the rats have touched them.

But if you think that's grim I put my refrigerated raw dog food in the family fridge shockgrin

Anyways, they are for cats, but I have RATS smile

Oh my 😍😍 I am such a sucker for rats. Owned them from childhood well into adulthood. Sadly don’t have the time or space for them now but I still love them so much. Best pets ever. Your boys are gorgeous!

Op can I ask where your rat cage is situated in your home? Keen to get some but worry the only place we have suitable is a bit draughty!!

Rats prefer to be cold than too hot, they'll snuggle up in piles in a cosy hammock if it's cold but when it's hot they become liquid and just spread everywhere

OP Your rats are spoiled babies, I keep rat food in the freezer - frozen peas for pea fishing on hot days

Keeping rat food in the family fridge is grim.

We keep our snake food in the family freezer. Due to the pet subject of this thread I won't mention what that is 👀😬
