I'm still awake (and haven't even tried to go to sleep yet) cos I have a frozen shoulder.
I could have gone to bed three hours ago but if I had I would be up now until morning.
Much easier to wait an hour when I'm deathly tired and sleep for four/five hours than try now.
I used to love to
Sleep but it's become such a battle that I'd rather not even try.
Long gone are the days when I used to easily sleep for an eight or ten hour stretch, more if I was left to it!!
I yearn for sleep yet it's becoming such a chore.
Falling asleep is not an issue, staying asleep is Confused

Feeding my 5 month old twins oh and the cat just thrown up everywhere so just finished cleaning the carpet

I can hear DH snoring in our bedroom and I've never hated him more 🤣

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/07/2021 02:51

Ricki, that's why I got a pint glass, last longer and less trips to the fridge.

After a week’s isolating for me and my three teens due to dd2’s positive lateral flow test (she then got a positive PCR result which was a mistake but in the meantime dd1 and I had got PCR tests - dd2’s first result was confirmed to be a mistake but her school then asked her to take another one) which has been depressing, tonight dd1 and I actually feel unwell Confused.

After a week at home. She went to school briefly this afternoon due to all of us having negative PCRs by then, but was there only briefly as her teacher was absent, and she only spoke to someone outside.

How long can the covid incubation period be does anyone know?

I hope everyone who is struggling with insomnia gets some rest soon Flowers.

drivinmecrazy · 10/07/2021 02:57

I'm sorry for those who have emotional issues keeping you from sleep.
To those of you filled to the brim with vodka, I'm getting there!!
Just got up from the sofa and I (stupidly should have known) pushed myself up with my bad
Shoulder. Not the greatest idea I've ever had.
I've just poured myself a triple vodka to try to counter the immediate pain.
Think my best bet will bet to get smashed and fall into a drunken stupor and Hope I sleep for a few hours

Just got in after a night putting the world to rights with one of my best friends can't believe it's 3am 😁 this is going to hurt in the morning 😂

wheretonow123 · 10/07/2021 03:03

@Jasmin82, so sorry about the behaviour of your friend. Some people just so shallow.

Myself, `I have Restless Leg Syndrome to varying degrees most nights. As previously said a decent few hours sleep is a rarity these days.

Mangomoonlight · 10/07/2021 03:04

Toddler is usually shouting to get out of the cot and in with us now. Rather than celebrating the fact we’re nearly 2 hours past the point where this happens I keep creeping in to check on her and worrying why she isn’t awake Confused

Oh and my arm hurts from the vaccine so can’t lie on my right and I’ve dohe my back in so muscle spasm. I’m falling apart!

happinessischocolate · 10/07/2021 03:07

@confettiballoons

I’m awake because my sister, who left a very abusive relationship two years ago after he beat the crap out of her, has had an altercation with her new boyfriend and arrived at 1am hysterically drunk. She asked for more wine and cried on me for an hour saying she didn’t want to live. I persuaded her to go to sleep and have just hidden all the wine and the painkillers. Now in bed stressing and breastfeeding my 5 week old.
Well done for being there for her when you have enough going on, hope everything works out for her and she finds a decent one (or just realises being on your own is better) Thanks
Examsofficer · 10/07/2021 03:07

Thank you drivinmecrazy Grin. I hope your shoulder gets better soon.

Mangomoonlight · 10/07/2021 03:07

@Jellybean81 how exciting! Good luck!
My second was a little stop start too but once it got started properly she literally shot out!
Keep us posted

Echobelly · 10/07/2021 03:07

Can't sleep because of a sore throat - I think I'm getting a covid test tomorrow. I feel a bit silly because I've had a few false alarms but I think it really is it this time as everything I've read suggests delta often feels like a bad cold with a sore throat! I don't mind if it is it, nothing that important on in next fortnight - in fact I almost hope this is it, as the timing would be good to get it out of way. DH and I recently second jabbed but not 3 weeks ago yet, so hopefully it won't be very serious. Daughter has had blocked nose for a couple of days but swore blind it was just a cold going round and no other symptoms, but if I'm positive I suspect she's source.

Just drunk some water with soluble aspirin then trying to sleep again soon.

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/07/2021 03:11

I'm hitting the wall, 3am where I need to sleep. Normally feel like this when I'm doing a night shift.

Inthesameboat2 · 10/07/2021 03:15

Pain.

Both physical (back, knees, hips, neck) & emotional (my 19yo DC is very hard work and I can'ttake anymore).

Hope everyone manages to get to sleep. Smile

Purplesparkle34 · 10/07/2021 03:16

Up with my poorly 4 month old who has an ear infection and is crying in pain. Just managed to get her to sleep on me, but too afraid to put her back in her cot incase she wakes and starts crying again. Have a 2 year old I’d like to stay asleep!

drivinmecrazy · 10/07/2021 03:20

I've just started yawning so
I hope sleep is approaching, I've had false starts before Grin
Tomorrow is another day and no doubt I'll be worrying about DD2 and her upcoming pre flight test. Need her to test negative (sure she Will ) so she and I can go see my mum in Spain. Haven't seen her since September and really need a month (at least!!) In the sun.
Feel a bit like I'll be abandoning a sinking ship, DD1 is due to start her third year of uni in Spain and she's only just submitted her application for Eurasmus funding and hasn't even thought about her visa application (bloody thank you Brexit Angry)
So will be escaping and leaving DH to pick up the pieces.
It's all a bundle of stress!!

Haven't read the thread but joining as I am still up because of GAD and was ghosted by my first planned date in 2 years yesterday. Cannot stop overthinking it even though I know it as simple as he is a twat.

ivfgottwins · 10/07/2021 03:24

@Examsofficer

My BIL has just started symptoms and got a positive PCR 7 days after after my sister went down with it - he tested everyday and only just got a positive

HildegardeCrowe · 10/07/2021 03:29

Another GAD sufferer here @lovingllamaa. Sorry about your date, plenty more fish hopefully. Never sleep until DD rolls in which she just has.

PhilCornwall1 · 10/07/2021 03:32

Bloody arthritis decided to wake me up at 1:30am. I stayed in bed for a bit, but I was fidgeting too much and started to disturb Mrs PC, so I've come downstairs and made an early start on painkillers.

I'm usually up taking the pills by 3:30am, but it's kicked in early this morning. Want to get it semi sorted as I've got some DIY that needs doing and hate having stuff like that unfinished.

Spyro1234 · 10/07/2021 03:33

Baby up howling ! And refusing to let Dad help 😬

That’s what I am worried about @ivfgottwins. Also worried that my kids’ school and my work are going to think we’re faking it (though I have been working from home in between going from test centre to test centre like a loon - including one I never found) if I message on Monday and say we actually feel ill now and are going to take more PCR tests.

I hope your sister and BIL are okay.
