I'm still awake (and haven't even tried to go to sleep yet) cos I have a frozen shoulder.
I could have gone to bed three hours ago but if I had I would be up now until morning.
Much easier to wait an hour when I'm deathly tired and sleep for four/five hours than try now.
I used to love to
Sleep but it's become such a battle that I'd rather not even try.
Long gone are the days when I used to easily sleep for an eight or ten hour stretch, more if I was left to it!!
I yearn for sleep yet it's becoming such a chore.
Falling asleep is not an issue, staying asleep is

I fucked my knee a month ago and since then my sleeping pattern has been all over the place. In quite a bit of pain and struggling to rest unfortunately

Such is life, I'm sure it'll heal soon.

Two year old just came into my bed and puked all over it, me, her hair (which is curly as anything and she managed to get front, back and sides, great fun). Post-clean-up DP is snoring, she’s asleep on me, I’m waiting to be able to prod her off me but thus far have been met with sleepy, grumbly resistance.

Getting up at 3.30 to go to Devon, seems pointless going back to sleep!

@Jellybean81 I agree with@Floralnomad I had 3 planned c sections and I was feeling pretty great after the 2nd day and didn't need painkillers after day 5. I found day 2 the worst though. From hearing others 'natural' stories I'd opt for a section every time. Xx

A few reasons I guess. Too hot and humid. 20m old pressed up against me. Mind racing about some difficult customers at work. Feel a bit nauseous and bloated. Sore shoulders and hips and knees.

I remember the last night I slept soundly and woke feeling rested, more than 2 years ago now. Since then I seem to lie down half awake and then it's morning again. Actual restorative sleep doesn't seem to happen anymore.

it will be ok. if need be they can put you under GA and get baby out in 4 mins but you will both be safe.

I’ve been awake for the past 3 hrs with a vomiting toddler. Fingers crossed he’s back in bed now and stopped puking.

Insomnia, been struggling with sleep since I had Covid due to long Covid symptoms. Some nights it just doesn't happen.

Jellybean try not to worry I had emergency c sections twice due to babies getting stuck after 10cm whilst pushing and it all worked out fine, they got them out quickly and safely once it wasn't working out. I know it is not what you had planned but it will be ok.

Breastfeeding my 15 month old who is teething - 8 teeth at once. Last few nights this has gone on for 3+ hours and my sympathy is rapidly waning. He's never fed for more than about 10 minutes at a time before (even as a newborn) so my boobs are really starting to protest.

I'm a night owl. To be honest I think Ive got in the habit of not going to bed as my husband is it. I've been thinking of writing a post tonight seeking advice on leaving my husband. Three young kids and not financially independent so it's not an easy thing to do.

I’m awake because my sister, who left a very abusive relationship two years ago after he beat the crap out of her, has had an altercation with her new boyfriend and arrived at 1am hysterically drunk. She asked for more wine and cried on me for an hour saying she didn’t want to live. I persuaded her to go to sleep and have just hidden all the wine and the painkillers. Now in bed stressing and breastfeeding my 5 week old.

Oh @confettiballoons that is horrible. You must be worried.
