I am so so so late to the party, but my goodness, I am totally hooked!!!
Just wondered if anyone else fancied being watching buddies, I've only just got to season 2!

I flipping love Outlander, it's brilliant! Am way past series 2 but happy to chat about it!

PoptartPoptart · 09/07/2021 21:51

I have found my people!
I have just finished watching all 5 seasons for the second time (since March!)
It’s totally addictive and I have a ridiculous schoolgirl crush on Jamie Fraser aka Sam Heughan.

CurlyMango · 09/07/2021 22:18

Outlander is brilliant

Time to read the books. Although she does go on a bit. Start with Virgins Grin

Outlander was brilliant I loved watching it..

Another addict here.
Season 6 coming early 2022 and the new book published Nov 23rd this year! Available for preorder on Amazon. I'm currently trying to whiz through some of the later books to remind myself of the details.

OP season 3 has some great bits. I won't do spoilers.

Inastatus · 09/07/2021 22:34

It’s bloody brilliant! I read all the Diana Gabaldon books years ago and the series doesn’t disappoint. Jamie Fraser oh my!

thegcatsmother · 09/07/2021 22:36

I can't bring myself to watch the TV series, having read all the books. I don't think Jamie and Clare on TV look anything like the Jamie and Clare of my imagination.

thegcatsmother · 09/07/2021 22:39

Preordered the new book - thanks for that.

longtompot · 09/07/2021 22:39

I had a very drunken chat with my ds's gf last summer about this (she loves it) and promised her I'd watch it. Sadly, I forget a lot of what I say when I've have a few so forgot. I think this will be my next watch.

BashfulClam · 09/07/2021 22:50

Seen them all and now in Droughtkander. Bloody love Murtagh!

Cherrysoup · 09/07/2021 23:50

I was horrified by this series in parts. My very Catholic aunt recommended it but some scenes were incredibly difficult to watch.

Workinghardeveryday · 09/07/2021 23:52

Oooo Jamie!!! Love me not Claire Jamie 🤞🏻

SirenSays · 10/07/2021 00:55

Savour it, series one and two were the best imo.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 10/07/2021 01:19

Sam Heughan was staying near where my daughter lives. She was gutted she didn't seen him. A girl she knows was working in the hotel and said he was lovely.

I felt season 4 went a bit odd, possibly different screen writers? But season 5 was back on track & can't wait for season 6.

MoChridhe · 10/07/2021 01:28

Another addict here from the beginning. Watched it over and over numerous times, read the books, my favourite books are 6 and 8. Now i read fanfiction only while waiting for book 9 and season 6. Also sam heughan wrote a book that I found really funny. He's got a new book coming out a few weeks before book 9.

WhyMrsRobinson · 10/07/2021 02:03

Now I’m going to have to give it a go!

I thought this and hated the first book. It was so bloody bad. Should I carry on with them?

babycorn1 · 10/07/2021 08:16

Oh yay!!! I thought I was all alone in my obsession!
Just started series 2, was slightly confused when at the beginning of episode 1 she was back in the real world...
I read some of the books years ago and my teenage crush was obvs Jamie, and Sam is even better than the Jamie of my fantasies Grin
Totally agree that some of it is very hard to watched, particularly THAT scene at the end of season 1... colleague prewarned me, so basically watched it from behind a pillow...

OP, there is a deal on amazon right now for books 1 2 and 3 for 99p.

@thegcatsmother - I honestly don’t think you’ll be disappointed! Jamie Fraser is exactly how I imagined him [swoons]
Inastatus · 10/07/2021 14:28

Actually better than I imagined!

babycorn1 · 10/07/2021 21:33

@MoChridhe thanks for the heads up! These are the ones I haven't actually read, so ordered them.

Must say, I am not overly impressed with season two so far, they've both gone a bit whingey and hoity toity!

Does it get better? Or shall I just rewatch season one over and over again? Grin

OP posts:
babycorn1 · 10/07/2021 21:33

@Inastatus yep, with you all the way on that one!

MoChridhe · 10/07/2021 21:38

The second half of season 2 is better than the first half. From Faith onwards is ok cos they go back to Scotland.

Season one is the best. My favourite in order are season 1, 2nd half of season 2, season 5 , 1st 8 episodes of season 3, season 4, 2nd half of season 3.
