Would you buy an Audi TT

If you only had access to one car, and had a 14 year old son (single parent)

Basically have choice between this and a Jag Fpace.

I do occasionally need a 4WD, but as it’s only usually me and ds in the car or me and dp it feels ridiculous rating round a huge boot and back.

((Currently have a Ford Ranger))

Apologies, couldn’t find a car topic

In a nano second

Redtartanshoes · 06/07/2021 17:59

Lol

Just worried I’ll regret not having proper back seats….

Nope, I’d buy a tiny, cheap run around and spend the money saved on anything other than a boring old car.

Yes. I’d accept a free one even faster. Smile

How have you ended up with this incredibly narrow choice? If you need a 4x4 sometimes to tow horse boxes or something like that, then you’re being a bit mad, otherwise it’s fine.

Perfectlystill · 06/07/2021 18:04

No I think it's a tiny bit hairdressery. I'd go for the F Pace for sure - have you asked your son what he thinks? My son would LOVE an F Pace!

MarjorieBouvier · 06/07/2021 18:11

Nope. I think they're really ugly cars. Audi Teletubby we used to call them.

RickiTarr · 06/07/2021 18:13

Wow is “hairdresser” an insult now?

Lipsandlashes · 06/07/2021 18:14

F Pace - no contest

cheesepizza22 · 06/07/2021 18:16

F pace - absolutely no contest

Seventimesaday · 06/07/2021 18:17

Totally impractical. Back seats are ok for small kids only. Rubbish in more than a sprinkling of snow.

What car do I have? An Audi TT. Love it.
But then again, I definitely would say no to an F Pace. (As well).

QuestionableMouse · 06/07/2021 18:21

Nope but I wouldn't have either as I need a car with a big boot.

Have you had a test drive in it? I'd try that before making your mind up

Redtartanshoes · 06/07/2021 18:38

4WD as occasionally work in remote areas

They are just the 2 I’ve narrowed it down to… my favourites if you will… I accept they are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Being rubbish in snow isn’t ideal though ((Scotland))

Have enough money to buy the nice things I need/want so buying a crap old banger that breaks down/looks a mess/cannot go to work in isnt an option. I get car allowance (from my job not as a hairdresser)

Test drive good idea

I think the F Pace is for old people Grin they already look dated and are very plastic looking inside, but then I’m biased on this one because I have a TT and love it. So do my two kids. It’s fun to drive and not bad on fuel consumption. Quite a bit of space in the boot and there’s isofix in the back for the car seat. Great car.

Lonelycrab · 06/07/2021 18:53

I was on the verge of buying one, I think they’re pretty cool, sod what Clarkson says about them. Have sat inside one and it’s a nice place to be. I’m sure the autos were 4wd too, they used to be. Pretty crazy fast really, my friend has a TTS and it’s bonkers. F pace looks a lot roomier though and pretty lovely too. Nice problem to have opSmile

Redtartanshoes · 06/07/2021 18:55

It’s a lovely problem to have. It’s the first time I’ve ever bought a “nice car”. Years of having company cars, and before that just whatever was cheap/practical

I was going to say yes until I read the alternate is an F Pace! I've had three jags and they make me smile every time I get in!

Duvetdweller · 06/07/2021 18:58

I think they’re very nineties

Isitpossi · 06/07/2021 19:00

I think TTs are ugly

Redtartanshoes · 06/07/2021 19:04

What’s 2020’s then? 🤨

PaddleBoardingMomma · 06/07/2021 19:06

Noooo don't choose a TT over an Fpace!

Fpace all day every day... and ignore those making snarky comments, it's a jealousy thing.

mbosnz · 06/07/2021 19:06

Our friend who bought one has had nothing but grief with hers. She yearns for her Mini!

ZenNudist · 06/07/2021 19:06

F Pace

Roselilly36 · 06/07/2021 19:07

TT’s are pretty old fashioned. F Pace unsure, not seen one. Have you looked at any other models, Peugeot 2008, 3008? Both award winning cars, sensible prices with lots of features. DH has owned so many cars over the years, inc range rovers, Mercedes, Lotus etc his last 3 cars have been Peugeot’s.

Redtartanshoes · 06/07/2021 19:08

I don’t need sensible… or French: sorry 😂

namcybotwinbloom · 06/07/2021 19:16

Have you test drove them?

I had an e pace. Hated it. Now have an Audi A3.

Love it
