No , I dont mean things like Live Love Life etc , each to their own but thats really not my thing .

I am in the very long proccess of redecorating , so I am stripping wall paper off .
I all of my old houses there have been little notes under the wall paper 'such and such lives here from x date '
But other than a few decoraters marks and mesurements their is nothing in this house .
So I am going to write somthing like Al moved in to this house on x and did this decorating on , , , today / tomorrows date .

What else can I write ?

What have you found wrote under wall papper ?

Put a witchbottle and a child’s shoe somewhere, and look up a thoroughgoing curse on anyone who tampers with your panelling or something?

GlutenFreeGingerCake · 04/07/2021 18:24

Something about the end of lockdown?

AlCalavicci · 04/07/2021 18:27

@speakout Ah yes now I have seen the trailer I remember it , bloody glad my name is not Sally ! it was one of the more wierd and spooky Dr Who's

dh always says he will write... "i will kill again...." with some ominous stains around and about. Considering the man cannot wrap a parcel though it's unlikely he'll ever be wallpapering!

We've found lots of decorator names and dates while doing up this house, one is very splendid and about three feet long. I did not even notice it for a few days, it's spindly, long and tall but you need some distance from it to realise it is writing

AlCalavicci · 04/07/2021 18:32

@MareMare I dont have any where that something like that could go apart from the loft which is a death trap in its own right so I aint giong up there .

@GlutenFreeGingerCake, When I started the decorating in summer last year I did write lockdown decorating with the date and as I am almost finishe a 'end' date would be a good idea

A couple of years ago we wrote that we hated Trump and sorry about Brexit, it wasn't in our name.

Seesawmummadaw · 04/07/2021 18:38

‘Don’t blink’

Or

‘Help!’

squiddylama · 04/07/2021 18:40

You could do a run down of what's happening e.g prime minister, weather, queen, what car you have etc

cancancan · 04/07/2021 18:45

We decorated our bedroom at the beginning of the first lock down. We let DD go mad with her paints and pens and we wrote something about being in lockdown.... did then worry you'd be able to see it under the wallpaper but thankfully you can't unless you really looked!

VexedofVirginiaWater · 04/07/2021 18:45

Do what Father Jack would have done - Drink Girls Feck Arse - can't see anyone objecting to that.

AlCalavicci · 04/07/2021 18:47

Musing so far , I fill in the moved in date when I can remember what it was !

Our first house in South London had a great painting of a fighter aircraft, all guns blazing, on the wall of the bedroom.

Notthissticky · 04/07/2021 18:59

I'm enjoying this thread! Too bad we've decided to paint rather than wallpaper DS2's room. I really like the sample prices etc:
Price of petrol
Price of the house
Interest rates
Price of a pint of milk
Price of a pint

Your first names
Moving in date
A message about the neighbours if you're confident you'll stay in your house longer than they will live in theirs. I'd love to write that our neighbour is a miserable bitch and don't be taken in by her initial politeness, but I think we'll move out before herGrin
Current Prime Minister
COVID stats
Your model phone
Your model car

JaneJeffer · 04/07/2021 18:59

Write "so you didn't like my wallpaper then?"

Kimblebee19 · 04/07/2021 19:06

I vote for @JaneJeffer 's one Grin

I read a while back that someone wrote how many rolls of wallpaper were needed, after being disgruntled that they didnt have enough and found out half way through the job.

If you're feeling decidedly less helpful, a great whacking big pentagram and some occult symbols should do the trick..!

AlCalavicci · 04/07/2021 19:07

I have added the price of tescos and heinz baked beans ,
I dont drive but I will add the price of petrol
my phone is already about 5 years old but i will put that there too

We moved in just before one of our nighbours we all said we didnt think we would stay in the area long , that was around 20 years ago .

@FaceyRomford did you keep the picture ? it sounds great

"The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir...beware!"

BecauseIdontWantTo · 04/07/2021 19:15

Same as me, @speakout!

NigellaSeed · 04/07/2021 19:18

@JaneJeffer

Write "so you didn't like my wallpaper then?"
@JaneJeffer Brilliant!!
SirenSays · 04/07/2021 19:22

My parents let us do this every time they decorated, it was the best part. We started with silly drawings, knock knock jokes and progressed to fake bloody hand prints, horror movie gimmicks and dirty limericks as we got older.
My dad liked to write how many tins of paint or rolls of wallpaper a room took.

AnonymousUser12 · 04/07/2021 19:26

I put everybody who lived in our homes date of birth and name.

HalzTangz · 04/07/2021 19:37

I would write something about the last 18 months, (let's face it this will be in the history books), and would be interesting for someone to read years dow the line
