Just marvelling at my soda stream. We used to buy SO much sparkling water the amount of plastic was dreadful. I'm so glad I bought it! has really made life better.

Also my quartz worktops.... was a splurge but bloody hell my kitchen is a beautiful place to be now. I can't stop looking at them!

IVF was the best money we ever spent. I now have three beautiful children, children I once thought I would never have. Worth every penny 💖💖💖

tommyhoundmum · 05/07/2021 20:32

dementedma · 05/07/2021 20:41

Foam memory mattress topper

housecoat1968 · 05/07/2021 20:43

The trampoline with net. Had years of use out of it.

strawberrydonuts · 05/07/2021 20:44

I spent £500 to go on holiday with a group of people who were practically strangers to me. Best money I every spent as they are now friends for life :)

HazelBite · 05/07/2021 20:46

$5 on a watch from a stall outside Macey's in December 2017. It looks great, is much admired, and keeps brilliant time.

@JimLaheysWhiskeyBottle

This sounds very flashy, but my personal trainer. After two children, a husband who has high personal needs (a whole other thread) a demanding job, being overweight and rock bottom self confidence and self worth, he has changed my life. I adore my 2 hours on a Friday evening. He has fixed my wrecked stomach muscles so I no longer look 6 months pregnant, helped me to lose weight, given me confidence and taught me how to be systematic in my approach to things and life in general. I've just started MMA with him and I'm so very proud of myself. It was brutal training, but I couldn't stop smiling. I can't believe that I do the things I do at training. I don't tell anyone, as I still feel a bit wierd and like people would look at me and think "what's the point of that fatty training." But I've never felt better in my heart and my head. THE best money I've ever spent, even though it's incredibly self indulgent.
Investing in your health and your self esteem sounds like a great idea. I may do the same when my youngest is less needy.
Chickoletta · 05/07/2021 20:49

Yes to the soda stream.

Also my Toggi country boots - long, leather waterproof boots which cost me £120 (quite a lot for me) 5 years ago but I’ve worn them nearly every day since for dog walking, riding and general country life. As comfortable as trainers and still going strong.

Chickoletta · 05/07/2021 20:51

Also gym/pool membership at a nearby 4* hotel. Takes me 20 mins to drive there, all part of the relaxation as I listen to radio/audio book and not someone saying either Miiiiissss or Muuuum, then do classes, gym, swim, sauna etc. Definitely money we’ll spent.

superblondie28 · 05/07/2021 20:53

Totally different - I paid £45 to change my surname because I absolutely hated my original. Done via a solicitor in 1996

MontyPants · 05/07/2021 20:56

I have a carpet and upholstery cleaner machine, and my house no longer smells of dog. Seeing the dirty water after use is so satisfying. It was very expensive, but I would recommend to anyone who has carpets and/or a fabric sofa.

BlueLobelia · 05/07/2021 20:57

@RamItBunty

Pure cashmere throw. I’ve used it on planes,for the kids, as a baby blanket. As a huge pashmina. It folds down small is portable. Love it

Expensive kitchen with gadgets. I cook a lot makes it a happy place to be

Bliss silk pillow cases, silk eye mask and silk scrunchie. I swear i sleep better. Probably placebo But it works

Oh i love the sound of a pure cashmere throw.
Poppydot3 · 05/07/2021 20:59

Sparkling water. My dh used to drink loads of the stuff until his dentist told him how bad it was for the enamel on his teeth. He doesn’t drink it at all now.

Fitforforty · 05/07/2021 20:59

@Thoughtcontagion

My eyebrows. They looked so bad before and I kept drawing them badly? Done my research and picked a good lady to do it and they are good and I love them.
What did you have done to them? I want eyes brows thy always look done but I’m a scared they do don’t look the way I like.
SilverOtter · 05/07/2021 21:05

An electronic heat pad. It's blissful on my dodgy neck and I use it every single evening🥰

Cherrysoup · 05/07/2021 21:07

Getting rid of 7 x 50ft conifers has freed my garden up, given us a ton more room. I can’t understand why the row of neighbours behind never complained!

@SpeakingFranglais please could you explain?

IncyWincyGrownUp · 05/07/2021 21:08

My dishwasher. My back is in a dreadful state, the dishwasher has made life easier.

Thoughtcontagion · 05/07/2021 21:08

@Fitforforty I had them microbladed she is very very particular she spent over an hour drawing them and measuring my face, then she down the colour perfectly, on the website she describes them as

Hair by hair strokes are created to give the brows a fuller but still natural appearance. Perfect if your eyebrows are over plucked, naturally too thin or just simply need to improve the shape. Ideal for those who suffer hair loss as a result of alopecia.

They look natural and you can’t tell they aren’t mine, they just looked shaped. I am so happy with them. I had gaps, really thin bits etc before. Cost me £300 been 2 years and still going strong haven’t needed a top up yet!

Listener2021 · 05/07/2021 21:18

When we moved we paid a company to deep clean every room as we emptied it. Had a 6 month old and a 4 year old, could never have managed it myself.

Occitane · 05/07/2021 21:26

We rehomed a whippet cross about 12 years ago. The donation was supposed to be £150, but because she was a cross they only asked for £70. She died two years ago, but was an amazing dog. Best money I ever spent.

RovenderKitt · 05/07/2021 21:30

£250-ish for a Workers for Freedom leather jacket in the 90s. Worn it hundreds of times and now DD looks ace in it

NCasnottooutmyself · 05/07/2021 21:31

Other than my house it would have to be my Dyson hairdryer. Dries my hair in half the time, it’s so quiet and leaves my hair poker straight with no need to go over with straighteners which has really improved the overall condition of my hair.

Also my shark cordless vacuum, use it daily.
