So far I've got

Tent
Sleeping bags
Pillows
Airbeds (oh what luxury / didn't happen in my day Grin )
Pump
Batteries
Torches & lantern
Picnic set
Dry robes / towels
Swimming costumes
Torches
Frying pan
Pot
Paddling pool (probably won't fill with water but they all enjoyed just hanging out in it with pillows and blankets last time)
Outdoor toys
Food
Booze
More booze

There's a fire and BBQ to cook on, not bothering with gas stoves etc.

If you can fit it in an airer. We got one for a fiver from IKEA which is handy as you can shove things on it to dry without them being hung up all around the tent!

Kettle... and a gas ring to make your morning cuppa on.

String and scissors

Cool box

Chairs

Table

raspberrymuffin · 30/06/2021 15:04

Spare toilet roll.
Camping chairs and/or picnic blanket

BiddyPop · 30/06/2021 15:08

If not bringing gas, bring a flask to put hot water that you heat in the evening (once dinner is cooked) for the first morning cuppa.

1 sharp knife (preferably in a cover!!) as part of the picnic set/kitchen tools.

Duct tape.

A packet of cheap but new plastic pegs (Poundland job) - both to hang things to dry, but also close food packets etc (hence NEW pegs)- or a handful of clippits or some ziploc bags for food storage.

Woolly hat for sleeping in.
And a cardigan/jumper/fleece for evenings once sun drops.

Batteries for torches and/or powerbank for phones/rechargable torches.

Spare socks!! (Especially a warm pair which are never worn outside the tent but you put on for sleeping in and air/dry out every day)

Rain gear and sun screen/hats

(From previous experience, I keep a full, from the skin out, change of clothes and a small travelling towel in the passenger footwell for striking day - so if it rains and I get drenched, I can change just before we leave (after everything is packed - during the last loo stop before leaving time) to be reasonably comfortable while driving home and not totally fog up the car).

Chairs / stools, groundsheet, washing up bowl, bottle opener, sharp knife, waterproof jacket / trousers, book, water container, first aid kit, cool box, oven gloves, plastic bags for shower and flipflops. Have fun!

We have a tiny gas stove (a Pocket Rocket) for making coffee in the morning. I would not camp without it. I love an early morning coffee before everyone else is up.

emmathedilemma · 30/06/2021 15:22

Water carrier
Ear plugs
Eye mask (unless you’ve got one of those blackout tents)

emmathedilemma · 30/06/2021 15:23

Put your matches in a Tupperware tub so they don’t get damp!

emmathedilemma · 30/06/2021 15:24

Washing up bowl & washing stuff

Zenithbear · 30/06/2021 15:28

Paracetamol
Mossie spray
Sting relief
Factor 50 roll on suncream

Tissue
Cleaning wipes and spray
Baby wipes

motogogo · 30/06/2021 15:32

Matches, fire lighters, charcoal, coffee pot and strong coffee (after the lack of sleep you'll need it) I'd take a camp stove in case of poor weather, rain gear, crocs/flops, potty if young, water carrier/2 litre bottle

motogogo · 30/06/2021 15:32

Oh and check if they charge for showers and what coins.

InDubiousBattle · 30/06/2021 15:39

Wishihadanalgorithm · 30/06/2021 15:40

We went last weekend , my first time. The one thing I wish we had took ...
was a booking for a hotel instead😂😂

Take umbrellas ! Maybe wellies or raincoats at least . It’s horrible when it rains .

It was torrential rain when we got there . Everything we owned got soaking wet and we had no clothes that weren’t wet !
