What shite films and genres do you love watching? But would cringe if people knew about.

For me it’s crappy supernatural ones, like Van Helsing, The Brothers Grimm and demonic possession films.
Can’t be doing with rom coms or action films.

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making The Team. In my other life I'm Kelli Finglass.

Hallmark Christmas 🎄 films

Silent Witness

Any Rom Com or comedy from the last 30 years.

I have my Amazon Show on all day long for company while I'm working, I've seen some diabolical acting 😁

SnoopyLights · 30/06/2021 20:18

I like the bad Hallmark type films.

The Christmas ones, the murder ones, and there's a whole series about a woman who is a modern day witch who owns a shop in a small American town.

You'd think from that I would like Gilmore Girls but I've tried to watch the first series on Netflix and I just can't. It's terrible.

I do like (and watch far too often) While You Were Sleeping and He's Just Not That Into You. That second one is terrible but I love it,

Kim & Aggie. Hoarders. Filthy House SOS. BBC Scotland had a documentary called Grime Scene Queens about a female-led crime/trauma cleaning company.

Dumb films like Dude Where's My Car?

@ifoundthebread - I want to see the film about a shark in a supermarket!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 01/07/2021 00:44

Move Over Darling was on telly recently, and I really enjoyed it!

GreenPixieHat · 01/07/2021 00:49

Bar Rescue. It is tripe of the highest order however OH and I find it hilarious.

@Carycy

Portrait and Landscape artist of the year. So zen! I don’t even paint. Might do when I retire. It seems like a good retirement hobby
This! I went back to the beginning recently and have just watched one year’s winner paint Alan Cumming naked, but for a kilt around his neck. I find it incredibly soothing…

@MrsLCSofLichfield the films called "Bait" it was released in 3d also. Its rubbish 😂
LunaNorth · 01/07/2021 08:17

Laura Clery and Stephen Hilton videos on Instagram/YouTube.

They lay their entire lives bare - she even posted a video of herself giving birth! I watch utterly agog, and can’t tear myself away.

Also, martial arts/boxing movies.

mogtheexcellent · 01/07/2021 21:08

@MrsLCSofLichfield

Yes Bait is the film and the most annoying female character does not get eaten so I get annoyed about that.

But yes I do also love shark films. My favourite is the Meg.

Any Hallmark, made for TV movie. They all follow the same format but with slightly different settings, which is a business in a small town which is in trouble (coffee shops, farms, inns, perfume businesses, flower shops) Girl or boy who moved away from small hometown, but now live in big city, goes home to help the business and fall back in love with childhood sweetheart. They then have a crisis of confidence and go back to big city to rich fiancée/ fiancé. Realise heart is in small town and go home. I’ve seen probably 100 of them and love em.

MrsLCSofLichfield · 02/07/2021 15:21

@ifoundthebread and @mogtheexcellent - thank you, will look it up, sounds brilliant! Grin

Somewhat off-topic, but I recently saw a picture of a monitor lizard in a Thai supermarket. S/he had climbed onto the top shelf and didn't look too impressed with the selection of goods...

romdowa · 02/07/2021 15:22

I love some rubbish Sci fi and Nicholas cage movies 🤣🤣 some times the terrible movies are the most entertaining

MareMare · 02/07/2021 18:42

I will admit to thoroughly enjoying ropy disaster movies where a town or city is only there for the purposes of being overcome by a volcano/tornado/earthquake/flood/epidemic -- they either have Pierce Brosnan as the world's least likely vulcanologist or The Rock's muscles playing themselves (with some faint backstory as a firefighter or something).

Although I do think Twister is actually quite a good film, mainly because the supporting cast is convincing. It seems mad now that anyone would have a film that wasted the great Philip Seymour Hoffmann (RIP) playing a Minor Stoner Tornado Chaser, mind you.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 02/07/2021 18:52

I love the Carry On films
I have also discovered a series from the 70s called Thriller on Youtube. The episodes are an hour long and some are unbelievably shite but I'm addicted.

BorderlineHappy · 02/07/2021 19:09

Sharknado that film all all its sequels just can't be beaten.
Asmr on YouTube,I would die of shame if that became public knowledge 😱

And any Curvy Brides shite on TLC,it's like crack😂

nikkithegrouch · 02/07/2021 19:28

Grease 2, hairspray and cry baby are my secret go to films on a Sunday afternoon.

UnChatNoir · 02/07/2021 19:47

I watch the Twilight films regularly.

I'm also addicted to The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
