Really nice drinks that aren't alcoholic

What are your favourite non alcoholic drinks that you look forward to having?

I'm looking for alternatives to alcohol but something a bit more special than just plain tea, coffee, water or juice/squash/fizzy soft drinks.

I used to have a lovely bedtime tea that I had when my youngest was a baby but just the smell of it now gives me palpitations with the association of sleepless nights!!

Teisseire syrops especially elderflower or pomegranate

Oh yes, I love the passion fruit one, really good.

Bought some Clean G no alcohol gin and it does taste of gin and tonic. Was pretty surprised as most non alcohol stuff (except some beers) have been yuck. Have ordered the rhubarb pink one next.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/06/2021 23:55

Fentimans flavoured tonic waters are lovely - we get pink grapefruit, pink rhubarb and yuzu flavours.

I also love Chinotto, which is a an orange Myrtle flavoured fizzy drink made by San Pellegrino. It looks like cola, but it has a bitter marmalade flavour.

I'm an easy mark - I think Nozeco is quite pleasant and Heineken 0.0% is ok too. It's nice to have something like a beer taste sometimes.

Gingernaut · 26/06/2021 00:00

Fentiman's Rose Lemonade - lovely but sugary.

Aldi - Apple & Elderflower sparkling water

Aldi - Cream Soda

JonathanRipples · 26/06/2021 00:26

Belvoir cordials with sparking water

Pukka teas - love the night time one

Ginger ale, really cold over ice

Midnightballerina · 26/06/2021 00:30

Virgin mojito hands down

Soda water and freshly squeezed lime.
Peroni, Heineken or Adnams Ghostship alcohol free beer.
Alcohol free wine - I like Eisberg Sauvignon Blanc - as a spritzer with soda water.

Standrewsschool · 26/06/2021 04:47

Robinsons Fruit Cordial Lime and Mint - lovely chilled
Elderflower drink

Standrewsschool · 26/06/2021 04:49

Also like orange juice mixed with lemonade - very refreshing

RubyGoat · 26/06/2021 04:51

I like herbal tea. Sometimes cold, especially the fruit ones. Hebden Tea Company do some lovely teas.

I also like infused water - a piece of lime & a big sprig of mint is good, & the flavour will last for a refill if you give it a while to infuse again before you drink it.

I'm sure I had a pineapple & ginger cocktail once in a bar. Very nice, refreshing.

Standrewsschool · 26/06/2021 04:56

@LadyEggs

I've weaned myself off of wine with Fever Tree tonics. I especially like the Aromatic one and they are low cal too. I have it in a wine glass with ice. They are not cheap but a lot less than a bottle of red!
Can I ask, what does the aromatic one actually taste of? Would you drink it neat? Do you drink other flavours neat also? If so, which?
thatone · 26/06/2021 05:43

The lime and mint cordial is also lovely with sparkling water.

jobsagudden · 26/06/2021 05:47

Beloiir rose and elderflower cordiall

Miranda79 · 26/06/2021 05:52

We make a lovely ‘spritzer’ with 60ml each of good tonic (fever tree med is good), verjus and sparkling water. Pour over ice and add slice of lemon, it’s really lovely!

Quail15 · 26/06/2021 05:53

I enjoy Seedlip (non alcoholic Gin) especially the citrus one with fever tree tonic. It is expensive but it feels like I'm having a treat.

RubyGoat · 26/06/2021 05:57

Remembered another one, a cordial (I rarely drink cordial so I forgot it). But, if you can get it, Rocks do rather nice cordial in a few flavours. The blackcurrant is like a slightly posh version of Ribena (before they ruined Ribena with all the artificial sweeteners etc). I can usually get it in Tesco or Morrisons now.

Mr Fitzpatrick's cordials are also quite good if you fancy splashing out a bit. Interesting range of flavours.

Mia184 · 26/06/2021 06:12

@Crowsaregreat

Have you tried non alcoholic beer? Erdinger one is my favourite.
If you can get hold of the non alcoholic beer from Schneider, you should give it a try. I like Erdinger but find Schneider a bit better.
Crowsaregreat · 26/06/2021 06:48

I'll look out for Schneider mia84!

Also a tiny bit alcoholic but only just - a couple of drops of bitters with soda. Tastes really grown up like a nice cocktail but not so sugary as most soft drinks.

HowToMurderYourLife · 26/06/2021 06:59

Check out your nearest Polish supermarket. You can get lovely cordials which I like with sparkling water. Cherry is my favourite, last summer there was a limited edition Watermelon and mint and I will buy a case if it comes back!
