For those that hang washing out on the line....

....do you also hang your underwear out? I do and ive never given it a second thought, but I saw my neighbour hang her washing out but take all her underwear back inside and it got me thinking, have I been brazenly displaying my knickers for years? Lightheartedly just wandering what others do.... 🙂

Small garden and massive, belly warming under crackers so they go on a socktopus to save line space.

I do on one of those mini things which are meant for socks and pants hung on the main line. Put my normal knickers, period pants and my cloth sanitary towels on it. Dont give it a second thought.

When we had our own garden I hung it on the inside of the spinny thing, with clothes on the outside. Since moving to a flat, where we have a shared spinny thing in the communal garden, I dry underwear inside. I don't mind people seeing it from a distance but don't think I can handle my neighbours passing within a metre of my greying pants on their way to take the recycling out.

Yes, I hang on one of those things you hang socks on, they can quickly be brought in if it rains. DH’s pants are hung out on my washing line like like bunting…

I hang everything out. Nobody can see my line but what if they could? Everyone wears underwear don’t they?

I wait until I have enough underwear/socks/other small items and just stick them in the tumble dryer. Not because of prudishness, but because I really cannot be arsed pegging hundreds of individual items out. With five of us, there are a lot. Hanging out larger garments takes long enough.

I tend to dry my underwear on the bannister inside, but only because it doesn't need pegging out and it is less effort.

Yes hang everything out but noticed none of my neighbours ever do. Maybe theirs are not fit for hanging out

Good thread. I have to admit I am happy to hang out "normal" underwear. When it comes to the lacier thinner thongs and lacier bras, I always dry these inside. I suppose there is no reason why I should, but I am just bashful.

I don't want pants, but I hang everyone else's out, and my bras.

Yes I hang mine out on the line outside, it's just a straight line so no hiding them!

I've got a little rotary line and I just hook all my pants and socks onto that, usually pants in the middle and socks and babies socks on the outside lol
I'm 30 and I wear big pants I think I'd die with shame if my neighbours seen them 😂

I hang mine out from the side seam so it’s not so obvious, it doesn’t bother me but I do share a yard with my neighbour so I’m cautious .

I hang underwear out unless it's likely to rain later on because I can't be arsed faffing about unpegging pants and socks in a hurry!

I use one of those multi hanger things for socks and pants and put that on the line. Then its just one thing to unpeg in a hurry.

I don't, but I used to live near a knicker nicker.

He did eventually get caught with a car boot fill of women's underwear. But by then I was out of the habit of hanging them outside and I've just never done it since.

No I don't. I always felt weird look at my old neighbours knickers when I didn't have a line. Now I do, our underwear and socks go on a small airer out of sight.

I do and don't give a shit , there is some weird train of thought that it isn't very classy to have them on the line but I don't care .. no one can really see it anyway plus we all wear underwear!🤷‍♀️

I was pegging out a load of washing earlier when my neighbour sauntered past and started chatting. We talked for about 10 mins and it was only when I turned around to carry on pegging that I realised that his background for our chat was a row of my knickers. They were on the inside of the rotary line but I hadn't yet concealed them
