That's great paper! My day was a bit annoying as I had some appointments booked in but no one answered the phone.

I'm taking dd to the cinema tonight to see Boxing Day.

73kittycat73 · 09/12/2021 19:05

Hello all. Xmas Smile
Did you get a cheese advent calendar in the end BorderlineHappy? Have you had one before? Iirc, last Christmas didn't Asda do one? I heard people weren't to impressed as it was the same 5 cheeses over and over.
Oh, very posh WreckTangled Xmas Grin I put in a chocolate everyday in the fill your own calendar. Was originally all Ferrero Roche then someone ate those ( Xmas Blush ). Then when they were replaced someone's nieces ate those, lol. We now have some Ferrero Roche and some other small chocolates. Xmas Grin
Found you PaperMonster! Xmas Smile I love those T-Rex earrings, and the fried eggs, and my fav Christmas ones so far are the presents. Love the teddy peeking up through them. Xmas Smile
Just got to get two bows and a bit of ribbon out the cupboard, then bar the fresh food, I'm done for Christmas. Woo-hoo! [fsmiel]

PaperMonster · 10/12/2021 19:36

@73kittycat73 glad you liked them! The dinosaur ones are one of my favourites! Not sure I’ve worn my favourite Christmas ones yet cos I’m not sure which are my faves!!

Well done @BorderlineHappy! Great achievement!

I’ve had a manic few days and I’m exhausted! So looking forward to a lie-in tomorrow!

WreckTangled · 10/12/2021 19:38

Great weight loss borderline!

I'm also exhausted and looking forward to a lie in tomorrow. Although dh will be up for work so that'll probably wake me up and I've got so much washing to do!

73kittycat73 · 11/12/2021 19:15

Aww, I hope you both get to enjoy a lie in. Xmas Smile Ban DH from the bedroom WreckTangled, that should sort it. Xmas Grin Lol, I really hope he doesn't wake you up.
PaperMonster, do you have anyone that can wait on you tomorrow? So you can have a duvet day. Xmas Smile
Lol, BorderlineHappy. Well done though! Star

Bloomin typically I managed to sleep for half an hour longer than normal!! Such vivid dreams which woke me up a couple of times too.

Been out for a family lunch today - had cake, oops!!

PaperMonster · 13/12/2021 08:13

Hello all! Hope you’ve had lovely weekends! This is a crazy week for me and am feeling slightly overwhelmed! Going to try and focus on one day at a time! I have new earrings- this is good! X

BorderlineHappy · 15/12/2021 12:48

@PaperMonster hope the week hasnt been too crazy for you.

Nothing really to report have the kids mostly dressed and a few little presents to open Christmas morning.

Just enjoying the last few days of peace before kids are off next week.

PaperMonster · 15/12/2021 13:41

@BorderlineHappy - it’s bonkers! Envying your peace!! Am absolutely shattered and I’ve to go and be a responsible adult tonight and I’m not sure I have much responsibility left in me!!! Just having a quick ten minute sit down before I need to go and organise stuff.

@73kittycat73 hope you’re doing ok xx I can’t stop eating chocolate at the mo. This is not good.

WreckTangled · 16/12/2021 07:39

My latest hba1c was 34!

PaperMonster · 16/12/2021 14:26

@WreckTangled that’s bloomin brilliant! Dreading mine! It is due. I’m hoping all my walking will keep levels down - my chocolate addiction currently won’t help!!

BorderlineHappy · 16/12/2021 15:02

That's brilliant @WreckTangled really happy for you

73kittycat73 · 16/12/2021 19:10

Hello all. Sorry I haven't been on. Have been spending nights trying to sleep, and days trying to stay awake! After nearly two consecutive nights of hardly any sleep, I went to bed/sleep last night about half eleven and didn't get up today till 10am. Still don't feel refreshed but at least I slept!
Sorry to hear you are having a challenging week PaperMonster. I hope last night went well? It's almost the weekend. Can you relax a bit then? I hope you get some respite soon. (((hugs)))
OOh, brace yourself BorderlineHappy, do they break up for Christmas tomorrow? (I only ask as my nieces do but I know you're not in the same country and might break up a different time.). How are Rocco and Mylo doing? Do they double team you?! lol
Wow, congrats on that Hba1c result WreckTangled! What you are doing is obviously working. Well done! Star
Are any of you giving yourself time off food wise over Christmas? I'm starting healthier eating early January because we have a mountain of food to get through before then! lol

WreckTangled · 16/12/2021 19:13

Thanks everyone. I have had too many lows than is ideal but I can work on that.

I will have a break but, after eating Nando's tonight and having the worst stomach ache, I will probably mainly stay low carb for meals but enjoy some hot chocolates and quality street etc. And cheese with crackers Grin

PaperMonster · 16/12/2021 20:27

@73kittycat73 thanks - I am having fun really, but just so exhausted! You sound like you’re going through the mill with this insomnia. But good to hear that you had a good long sleep. I might have asked before but have you tried some Epsom salts in a bath, or in a foot bath if you’ve no bath. Magnesium cream is also useful. We’ve no plans for Saturday but Sunday we’ve a family get together. Anyway, tis good to hear from you x

I’m already on a break I think! But will do as WreckTangled is doing. I went for breakfast with a friend and had bacon on a brown barmcake but I walked two miles just after that so hoping that kept numbers down. Might start using my meter again in the NY. I’ve also run out of my Metformin this week so need to sort that out!

WreckTangled · 16/12/2021 20:50

Walking after a meal is almost as good as medication I swear! It really ups the insulin absorption/sensitivity (no idea what it scientifically does but definitely works well on the blood sugar levels).

BorderlineHappy · 16/12/2021 21:30

My kids are finished on the 22nd here
Rocco and Mylo have discovered the back garden and sit and cry at teh back door till they go out Grin.

Im giving myself some time off because i was getting too obsessed over weighing and ccing. And getting annoyed at the weighing scales.

Going for breakfast with my son,his gf and kids tomorrow so that will be nice.

And my other son told me today hes asking his gf to marry him after Christmas.

So i will be buying a hat Grin
So i wont go mad but i will be generous.

73kittycat73 · 17/12/2021 19:13

Hello everyone. Xmas Smile Sounds like I'm spreading doom and gloom again, but I am proud of myself right now. Arsehole neighbour has started again. I was just sat here (In front room, next to bedroom) when he started banging on the bedroom celling again. I realised that he is just a big bully so went downstairs and knocked on their window with the pretense that did he want to see me because I heard him bang? He was quite shitty but, I haven't heard a bang since. Xmas Grin
I couldn't sleep last night again. Was still up around 3amish. I did try Superdrug to ask for something to help but because of the medication I'm on, said they couldn't give me anything and to contact my dr. I did and was offered an 'E-Consult.' I got a text back a few hours later saying lifestyle changes need to be tried first, for two weeks, before any medication would be considered. I was given some links, including about eating your five a day! Anyway, I'm going to try and establish a small routine. One of the reasons I don't go to bed earlier is because I want to brush my teeth before going to bed. As I've stated before, night time is my danger zone for eating. I also heard you should wait at least 30 minutes after eating before brushing your teeth. So it gets near time to brush and I eat again, adding at least another 30 minutes on, and so on. So, tonight, and hopefully going forward, no matter when I've eaten, I'm going to brush my teeth at 8pm. Aiming to get into bed for 11pm.
Enjoy your cheese WreckTangled. Xmas Grin I had a lovely ploughman's sandwich a while back with Red Leicester. Was nice. I'd eat another one.
Thank you for the tips PaperMonster. Xmas Smile I only have a shower but will look into where I can get some Epsom salts. I wonder if Holland and Barret, or Superdrug do them?
I'm glad you are having fun. Xmas Smile Do you have any plans for the weekend, or will you just rest?
I've had an itch, to sort out my kitchen cupbaords and rearrange them. Won't do it till after Christmas though, but have ordered some storage solutions for the food cupboard. Xmas Grin I can do those when they turn up tomorrow.
Ah, so a few more days peace then BorderlineHappy. Xmas Grin I hope you enjoyed your breakfast? And congratulations to you and your son with the engagemant! Star

I think once you brush your teeth you won't want to eat. Do you like warm drinks? I think a bedtime routine is really important, just some time to wind down. Also going to bed before you get too tired if that makes sense? If I start falling asleep on the sofa then by the time I've gone upstairs and got ready for bed I'm wide awake again. I think sleep is very important so hopefully some small changes will help you. Also no caffeine after 3pm, including chocolate Grin

PaperMonster · 18/12/2021 16:21

@BorderlineHappy how lovely about your son’s engagement!

@73kittycat73 have you a B&M nearby? They have Epsom salts there, or in Bodycare. Sometimes you can get them in the supermarket in the toiletries aisle.

Staff Christmas do last night - proper drunk!! I’ve had a croissant today to mop up the alcohol!!
