73kittycat73 · 26/07/2021 21:08

Thank you WreckTangled. You talk sense as usual. Do you really think I should be on 1600? I'm afraid the eating went on all day today. I just thought sod it, I'm starting again tomorrow so will go for it today!
I bought an air walker and have assembled it today (Was looking for a cross trainer but all the reviews said they were noisy and as much as I dislike my neighbour I thought it would be unfair on them as I live above them.). It seems quite fun, something I can do indoors too, in case of rain/cold weather. Am starting on it tomorrow so that should help.
I'm not going back to yoga for now. I only did it because it was the only exercise class I could get to. When I didn't do it when I felt poorly I realised how much I didn't like it! Hopefully the air walker will take it's place.
I've had the cauliflower hash browns before too BorderlineHappy. They are nice. I went to Ocado online a few weeks ago now. Usually just stick to Sainsburys and Asda but after having a nose on Ocado I saw they had a lot of vegetarian food I haven't tried before. I'm slowly working my way through. Some things have been nice, some not so! lol I also recommend Iceland's Hash Brown Waffles. Taste just like hash browns and are delicious!
Hi PaperMonster my brother is dinosaur mad, always has been. I always get him a 'Roarsome' birthday and Christmas card. I get dinosaurs in there somewhere! lol I like the sound of your earrings! Enjoy the cola. I haven't had Pepsi for ages now. Had a little sip a couple of weeks ago and it really didn't hit the spot like it used to. I think that's a good thing. Good going on the walk. Was the beach nice? Sandy or pebble? I hope you have a nice time at the harbour. Be careful though, I don't know what the weather forecast is for you where you are but we are forecast rain and thunder. Apparently it was thundering loudly earlier and I missed it all as I was listening to music on my headphones! Grin

I love hash browns.

Yes I really do. The main reason so many people struggle with dieting is because they over restrict. Slow and steady wins the race and all that. Plus calorie counting isn't that accurate, it's all guess work. A study showed people undercounted by around 400 calories, even the registered dietitians' undercounted by 200 calories. Tracking calories is really useful but it's still guess work really so consistency appears to be key. Plenty of foods to keep you satiated (500 calories of chocolate vs 500 calories of chicken salad as an example). My sugar level is a little low so I might be rambling not much sense right now but I know what I'm trying to say Grin

@WreckTangled I have a little bit of everything. The only thing im kind of strict on is carbs.I dont eat white bread or rice.TBF i never did.

And now i have knocked the drink of the head i can "spend" my calories on a lovely takeaway instead.

Went to Dealz here and i got the skinny syrup. Its Toffee and it its actually nice. And got some popcorn only 53 cals a bag.

PaperMonster · 27/07/2021 11:15

@73kittycat73 I didn’t get to the harbour in the end! I fell asleep!! Then when I woke up we played a card game, did a bath for daughter and then it was time for bed - I am sleeping a lot!!! As is my daughter!!

We’ve still got lovely weather here but I think tonight we’re due rain. The beach was lovely and Sandy and not ridiculously busy. It was opposite a big country park which is where we did the walk and I’ve booked daughter in to do some water sports on the lake there next week!

We’re off down to the harbour to do some rock pooling later!

73kittycat73 · 27/07/2021 12:07

I understand totally what you are trying to say WreckTangled.Smile A calorie isn't a calorie, it depends on what food source it's coming from. I hope you managed to get your BS back up?
I was wondering how you were doing with the non drinking BorderlineHappy. (Please feel free to tell me to p**s off if you don't want to talk about it.) From the sounds of it you are doing so well. Flowers I haven't tried to Toffee syrup yet. Tried the mint chocolate one the other day. That went in the bin. Envy

@73kittycat73 the non drinking is going well so far.
Ask me next month🤣🤣

PaperMonster · 27/07/2021 21:09

I think the sea air must be tiring us out!!

Well, the forecast rain was light and for about 15 minutes rather than the hours it had suggested! Tomorrow’s supposed to be showery so I’m hoping it goes the same way!

73kittycat73 · 28/07/2021 20:09

A huge well done then BorderlineHappy. Flowers Star I'm glad you are coping so well. Smile
We were forecast lots of rain and thunder too PaperMonster but it's only rained once, about six o clock and no thunder yet. From the sounds of it you are doing lots of walking?

OP posts:
PaperMonster · 28/07/2021 20:30

We had about an hour of rain this morning. Was going to put trousers on but then figured my legs are waterproof anyway so put shorts on. So glad I did!! It was a bit chilly at one point briefly and then it got sunny and warm. Probably walked about five miles today, only put my Strava on when we set off for an actual walk! But we’d been walking around the village for an hour before we set off! Had a nap of course when we got back!!

BorderlineHappy · 28/07/2021 20:52

Took a day off from cc
Had my takeaway and now I'm dying of thirst😂
You forget how salty they are.

@PaperMonster that's brilliant on the walk.
@73kittycat73 thanks.

73kittycat73 · 28/07/2021 21:00

Yes, it was actually a bit wintery here this morning PaperMonster! Shock I could have quite easily have put my heating on...The sky was grey and it was cold! It perked up a bit a bit later on but we had a bad wind. Wasn't easy getting the recycling in the bin! lol Good going on all that walking! Star I don't blame you for having a nap. Smile
Ooh, what cuisine was it BorderlineHappy?
Was just trying to buy something from Hotel Chocolate (It's not for me, honest! Smile ) and the payment page wouldn't load for PayPal or card so I tried on Firefox and it still wasn't working so I presume it's a problem their end.

@73kittycat73 it was a chinese ,it was lovely though.
But i feel stuffed.Havent felt this full in ages.
I dont really like this feeling now.

PaperMonster · 28/07/2021 22:20

@BorderlineHappy envious of the Chinese as no one else in our house likes it so we never have it; but so not envious of that stuffed feeling! It’s really unpleasant isn’t it? Hope it fades away soon xx

WreckTangled · 29/07/2021 07:45

I love Chinese too and dh doesn't so we never get it. Dd doesn't either but ds likes chow mien. Maybe I'll suggest it for his birthday Grin it's not until November.

I lapsed yesterday and had McDonald's and some giant toblerone. Made me feel crap with rollercoaster sugar levels so back on it today. We're going to the beach and I've got a low carb bread roll so will take that with me with a nice filling and a babybel on the side. Plus lots of coffee 🥱

BorderlineHappy · 29/07/2021 09:21

I remember getting Chinese and like cing the feeling of not being able to move after it.
I didn't have half what is normally have and I felt really full.
My stomach is shrinking, hopefully the outside matches up real soon.😂

I think I needed that day yesterday, made me realise eating healthy is more enjoyable.

73kittycat73 · 29/07/2021 09:53

Nice choice BorderlineHappy. I still like feeling full. Smile
Have a lovely day at the beach WreckTangled and enjoy your bread roll and coffee. Talking of coffee I've rediscovered Nescafe's Mocha instant coffee (Don't have a machine, small kitchen and would take up too much space.). I'm not keen on the double chocolate mocha they have in the shops so have bought the regular mocha from Amazon, the only place I've found it. Bloody expensive though!

Got another appointment through the post.
This time for Inherited Metabolic Disorders.
Anyone know what that's about. Also have an appointment for an angiogram.

At this rate it'll be quicker to tell you what I don't have😂

WreckTangled · 29/07/2021 18:05

Have ended up child free for the night so we're going out for dinner. Oops. This trying to be healthy/low carb thing is not going well right now.

73kittycat73 · 29/07/2021 22:17

Sorry BorderlineHappy, I don't know anything about Inherited Metabolic Disorders. Could it be IBS or Crohn's, something like that? I do hope you get some sort of diagnosis soon. When you know what you are dealing with you can treat it easier. Sending more good vibes your way, ~~~~< Good vibes.
I know the feeling WreckTangled! Grin I hope you've had a lovely meal and evening though. Smile I'm sure you'll be back to how you want to eat in no time.
You OK this evening PaperMonster? Lots more walks?

OP posts:
BorderlineHappy · 30/07/2021 08:40

The metabolic is hypertension, diabetes and obesity.

73kittycat73 · 30/07/2021 11:55

Well, I never knew that BorderlineHappy. Mind you, I've never heard of a Inherited Metabolic Disorder before either. Very good luck to you with your tests.
Hope all is well for everyone today? It's like winter again here! Cold, grey and very windy.
Hope you all have a great day. Flowers

Hello all, am feeling sick! We’ve been on a boat ride this evening where we saw amazing wildlife, but I felt seasick. Not happened before other than once on a choppy ferry ride! I love being out at sea too!

Did about eight miles walking yesterday but only a couple today because it chucked it down most of the day.

@WreckTangled Iknow how you feel with the eating healthy thing. I’ve had cake two days running! At least yesterday I walked a lot! Think I’ll just be a little less strict whilst we’re away and back to it once we’re back home.

@BorderlineHappy I’ve not heard of that. You’ll have to let us know how you get on with that.
