Anyone else noticing that pubs/restaurants are really quiet right now?

Hi,

So we're out as much as we can be right now, as who knows what's round the corner, but I've noticed over the past couple of weeks, pubs and restaurants are really dead. Even outside and in this glorious weather!

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm not in a covid hotspot. Cases are still very low here.

My husband is a DJ, no the pubs and clubs are not quiet by us.

There are queues round here.

In our street we have 2 pubs. They have both been busy during the day since they reopened but they are noticeably quieter of an evening. It does feel strange

Quiet yesterday but I assume everyone watching football. Previous weeks been very busy.

We’re in a holiday destination & I feel it’s quieter than previous years but boy have the prices risen.

They seem to be very quiet earlier here. Normally the pubs would be busy until closing but come about nine o'clock they are empty.

Nope. The local I was in. Yesterday was full. As were the 2 other places we drove past to get there! The cafe I was in this morning was also doing a roaring trade.

Packed here, too.

Not where I am! Could depend where you live I suppose. I'm in a very working class industrial town so it's very much "pub culture".

I was just saying that yesterday. We were out in the Peak District. Moderately busy early on but by 9pm it was dead.

Not at all quiet here.

I work on a pub, it was pretty busy at first but its been steady since. I don't work weekends though so I don't know about that.
I was wondering if everyone rushed to ours when they opened and now the novelty has worn off a bit.
I'm in a market town though not a city centre.

I live in Edinburgh and it’s rammed here

Most pubs where I am are still booking only, couldn’t get a table anywhere for love nor money last night (I’m in a part of London with a lot of pubs)
DH runs a pub, they don’t have much of a garden so only opened 17th May, been busy the whole time.

I wouldn’t say they’re quiet here - we’ve been out a few times this week and there’s generally a table or two free, but they fill up fast.

The “out of the way” ones are definitely busier than the town centre ones though - maybe because there’s more outside space?

I was in central London yesterday near Tower Bridge.... every restaurant along the river was packed solid... there were people everywhere... we moved on to Spitalfields and again the same... everywhere was rammed... had a great day out 😊

No not quiet at all I work in the industry , since reopened never been so busy .

DS works at a pub and it's been pretty quiet the last few weeks, it's a small country pub so I wonder if the inner town ones are busier, esp today with the football on

Not where I am, people are spilling onto the streets and outdoor seating has taken over walkways x
