So. I was listening to Zoe Ball this morning and Joe Wicks came on which got me thinking...

He's a really nice bloke. But I really don't like him! So unmanly and squeaky of voice!

Same with Michael Ball. Annoying grin and smugness!

This is totally lighthearted by the way, but are there any celebs that are totally lovely, but you can't stand them? And why?

I didn’t like Joe Wicks but then I heard his episode of Desert Island Discs and heard him in a whole new way. It was totally heartbreaking - he grew up with a drug addict father and a mother with OCD. I don’t begrudge him his cheery adult persona any more.

I'll have to give this a listen, his unrelenting cheeriness irritates me but desert island discs has changed my opinion on many an annoying celeb (not all - James Corden)

Don't you mean the actress Lorraine Kelly playing the role of Lorraine Kelly. The whole tax avoidance thing she did really l annoyed me, probably far more than it should have.

I find Mary Berry's piercing blue eyes quite disconcerting. The impression is steel in velvet.

Brian Cox basically has hair like my mum had, which is very distracting. She's grown her hair thanks to Covid but nope, can't see beyond it now.

I can't watch either of them for those reasons!

Nigella Lawson, another one that makes me cringe, don't get the hype.

Why has Grace Dent come up so much?? She writes so beautifully about food and the emotional connection with it...I love her writing about her childhood memories of food and family.

I think that's the truth. And he's gone over to the US and is doing well and that is not on, we can't have that FGS. Everybody seems to love Gavin and Stacey which he co-wrote and Carpool Karaoke is genius/hilarious.

Hes been mentioned a lot on other threads but Steve Wright is unbelievably annoying and I cant believe hes been recycling the same (unfunny) "jokes" on his afternoon radio show for about 30 years!
And hes so sychophantic to every celeb he ever interviews.
Hes been on the radio so long there must be people that really like him ....?

I’m one of those who do not warm to Grace Dent - have always liked her writing but in person I found her so mannered and self conscious just totally not relaxed or seemingly comfortable in her skin.
However her most recent appearances on masterchef have seemed very different. She seemed much more open and her judging comments seemed more balanced and empathetic. She’s growing on me I think.

Well I don't like Gavin and Stacy and I've never watched Carpool Karaoke cos I find him annoying and I'm fat so I'm not against him for his girth. Some people just have different senses of humour

James Corden - I’ve never seen Gavin and Stacey. Have seen some carpool which I thought he did brilliantly.
Saw the Friends reunion. But nothing else.
I find him very one level - one type one rather limited talent which he does well - ‘genial guy taking delight in stuff’ type thing. I can imagine it would get tiring very quickly if you saw a lot of it ? I like him in small doses.

Joe Wickes pissed me off when he did a “motivational” video about how people thought he was an overnight sensation when in fact he had been doing his fitness stuff for a decade. He went on to claim that everyone could have is success if they just worked hard and kept at it.

Yeah, mate, ten years of hard work and a global pandemic where people were trapped in their homes with kids climbing the walls and it happened to be yours of the hundreds of others who’s video went viral. We’re it not for that we’d still not have heard of him.

I saw James Corden on stage in 'One Man Two Guvnors'. He was very good and surprisingly agile.

Oh yes I saw him in The History Boys. He was good forgot that.

David Attenborough. He's so irritating. I mentioned on a Facebook page I thought he was overrated and had days of hate mail afterwards. So just accept it and don't @ me **
