Sussexes and bullying campaign

DeepThinkingGirl · 11/06/2021 00:59

Hi everyone !

Does anyone find the constant bullying of the Sussexes to affect their mental health ?

I find the mainstream misogyny to be a reflection of how society really does view women as a whole and how othering it is of people of other cultures.

I think baby Lilibet would be very sad to know the world received her with such strong opinions against her naming. It’s really sad that the world so full of hate doesn’t provide a nice place for kids to grow confidently.

I feel like if this happens in a powerful royal family, what’s there to hope in your average family!

Btw I have in law issues and I find the attitudes towards the sussexes triggering and upsetting

the difference between the other member of RF who are still able to have privileges and H&M is that, they dont slag off the RF.

RickiTarr · 11/06/2021 13:06

Maybe decide who you’re answering and address one poster at a time @ohforarainyday ? You’re mashing up paragraphs and points from at least two of us to make nonsense.

Bovrilly · 11/06/2021 13:07

"An anonymous insider claims" could mean literally anyone.

True, but this is not how this person has been described. If you had read the BBC story, you'd know it's actually "palace source" and "spokesperson".

bluebell34567 · 11/06/2021 13:07

*She seems
To be being given no info or wrong information A LOT! I think perhaps her DH needs to step up and start educating her .... oh ... unless it's an excuse perhaps *

of course it is an excuse.

ohforarainyday · 11/06/2021 13:10

That's a lot of words to say "I can't prove the Queen was personally directly responsible for the article, thus in decrying it Harry was not calling his gran personally a liar."

Funny how whenever I prove that people are making shit up, they immediately stop discussing the actual subject and try their hardest to derail the thread into personal abuse?

Bovrilly · 11/06/2021 13:12

Doesn't matter whether a press statement is issued in writing or verbally, they are NEVER issued anonymously. The idea that BP's press office would phone up a news outlet and say "but don't let on it came from us, pretend it came from an anonymous source" is laughable.

You show very little awareness of how this works for someone who knows PR. They obviously didn't say "don't let on it came from us", they are described as a palace source! This is a press officer employed by the RF, briefing a journalist in a completely standard way. It would be unusual for the press officer to be named - the whole point is it comes from the RF, not them as an individual. "A spokesperson said..." - it happens all the time.

DinaofCloud9 · 11/06/2021 13:12

Has your mental health really been affected by two millionaires squabbling with the media?

Just stop reading about them if so. It's not that hard to do.

tentosix · 11/06/2021 13:12

Their behaviour is awful on many levels. To criticise this is bullying?

Laska2Meryls · 11/06/2021 13:13

@bluebell34567

They've left... but they don't seem to be able to move on from that. Very odd and very sad.

because they dont have the privileges anymore the other members have. H was used to them and M wanted them so much. they cant accept that.

and at the same time whatever they do/say, if its controversial or not they are earning money as long as they are on the media and they do their best for it. they like attention a lot, too.

so they are like killing 2 birds with one stone.

this will always go on like that.

. Completely agree.... And the Royal connection is all they have left to trade on.. (If they want to live as Hollywood celebrities with Hollywood connections ..) Its probably the most expensive place to live in the US..
Bovrilly · 11/06/2021 13:13

Then there's literally the rudeness, the snarky posts, the personal insults to anyone who dares to disagree with the incessant dislike.

A bit like when Rainy called me a liar for pointing out Harry's criticism of the RF then?

ohforarainyday · 11/06/2021 13:15

Someone claimed Harry had called his gran a liar.

Please post a link to somewhere where Harry has directly said, "The Queen is lying."

Because if you can't, it means that statement was a lie.

As for the name/permission, we'll see what happens if and when the Sussexes sue the BBC.

Bovrilly · 11/06/2021 13:16

Please provide proof that this "anonymous palace source" came personally and directly from the Queen, otherwise it does prove that allegation "Harry called the Queen a liar" is a lie.

As I said before, the idea that someone working for the Queen made up something about her and took it to the BBC against her wishes is bizarre. Of course she signed off on it.

ohforarainyday · 11/06/2021 13:17

A bit like when Rainy called me a liar for pointing out Harry's criticism of the RF lied that Harry had called his gran a liar then?

Fixed that for you.

ohforarainyday · 11/06/2021 13:18

How come the Palace refuse to confirm the story, then? How come they're happy to let the BBC be sued?

Palace sources leak shit all the time.

Roussette · 11/06/2021 13:18

British tabloids are fuelled by 'palace sources'. They will do literally anything to fuel a feud for readership. Palace sources, royal aides and courtiers aid and abet that continually. They perpetuate rumours, usually to divert away from another story. It's been happening since Meghan's been on the scene and it's why they left most likely.

This won't be liked by many on here but this paragraph sums it up for me...

When a baby is named in honour, it means that that you’ve given the person who is most precious to you a memory of another person who is precious to you! And it’s every baby’s right to hold that knowledge. This baby, however, might one day know that these assholes couldn’t just leave it at love. They had to go out of their way to try to spoil the perfect first days of her life by pushing forward a lie about how her name was tainted by “protocol”. Or an alleged breach of it (which isn’t true anyway). It’s disgusting. And it’s equally reprehensible that they’re not being called out for how incredibly cruel this all is to everyone involved. Like why isn’t there more outrage about the fact that they’re doing this TO A BABY???

Roussette · 11/06/2021 13:20

A bit like when Rainy called me a liar for pointing out Harry's criticism of the RF then?

I searched back for Rainy calling you a liar doing controlF and couldn't find it.

Bovrilly · 11/06/2021 13:21

Someone claimed Harry had called his gran a liar.

What I said was, he is suggesting that she's lying about giving permission. Which he is. She says she didn't give permission and he says that actually, she did. Hard not to draw the inference that he is suggesting she is not telling the truth.

Bovrilly · 11/06/2021 13:22

@ohforarainyday

Not sure I would use the word 'fixed' - maybe 'mangled and removed all sense' would work better Wink
Roussette · 11/06/2021 13:24

A 'palace source' has said she didn't give permission. A 'source' could be anyone. It is not an official statement from BP. Or the queen.

I think something's rumbling and it's a case of divert divert divert.

Bovrilly · 11/06/2021 13:26

@Roussette

A bit like when Rainy called me a liar for pointing out Harry's criticism of the RF then?

I searched back for Rainy calling you a liar doing controlF and couldn't find it.

What do you gain from making up these lies?

Rainey's post at 11.01, quoting me.

ohforarainyday · 11/06/2021 13:26

She says she didn't give permission

Source?

Owlsandbats · 11/06/2021 13:28

Why did the BABY's parents land the them with a such a controversial name? TBH the Sussex children have bigger issues, such as having no relationship with any cousins, aunts uncles and most of their grandparents the way this is all going, I can't imagine that family ties across the pond will be tight. Maybe they'll be close to the York sisters' babies.

Roussette · 11/06/2021 13:30

I have found it bovrilly. I had no idea it was 4 pages back. I did look

Roussette · 11/06/2021 13:31

Why did the BABY's parents land the them with a such a controversial name?

Because they like the name and want to honour Harry's Grandmother?

Just a thought!

It's only controversial with those who want to find controversy

ohforarainyday · 11/06/2021 13:32

To be fair I did say Bovril was lying when she claimed Harry had called the Queen a liar. But I stand by that - unless someone can post a link where Harry actually says "my grandmother is lying" I reject that allegation as false and outrageous.

I see nothing to indicate the Queen is upset about the name. it's obvious Harry and his gran speak regularly and are on good terms. People are being outraged on the Queen's behalf for no reason.

I'd bet money this whole "they didn't ask permission!" froth came from some shit-stirring courtier. The courtiers always do this. They leak, they backstab, they're controlling. I read an article saying the courtiers are upset that Harry didn't submit a formal Baby Naming Request in writing. I can well believe that he didn't, that he simply verbally asked the Queen during a phone or Zoom call, and the courtiers are getting their knickers in a twist over the fact he didn't ask permission using the proper formal protocol. I don't believe for a second the Queen gives a shit.
