What's your resting heart rate?

Mine is 49. Am I dead?

Can you tell that I've got a jazzy new watch which measures all the things?

Varies between 58 and 63 ...but I am in my 60s.

fellrunner85 · 08/06/2021 20:19

Something between 50 (according to one of my fitness watches) and 63 (according to the other one).

So I have no idea, other than that watches that measure heart rate are v unreliable when you don't use them with a chest strap.

Pleasedontsayyouloveme · 08/06/2021 20:24

85

HowToBringABlushToTheSnow · 08/06/2021 20:27

49 is low. Are you super fit?

Mine is 54 (I'm 46 and v healthy / fit)

Rubytinsleslippers · 08/06/2021 20:27

Currently 53, can be as low as 46. I've always had a low heart rate - am not an athlete or anything. Went to Dr but as this is my ' usual' it's fine. If you are worried see your GP but if you feel fine it's unlikely anything is wrong

Labtest7 · 08/06/2021 20:28

47 and I'm 50

CandyCaneLane0 · 08/06/2021 20:28

52

Spudina · 08/06/2021 20:28

Between 60-100 is “normal range” but lots of people are outside the normal. I would check it manually. Some medications (like anti hypertensives and Digoxin) and bring very fit cause a lower heart tate. Mines higher than I would like!

Captainj1 · 08/06/2021 20:30

Mine is 60 as measured by a doctor last week during a medical. My Harman says similar.
I am 46 and not particularly active now but I was as a youth, played sport to high level, and throughout my 20s - age 15-25 is when your heart muscles develop and once developed they tend to stay that way, that’s what the dr told me.

Captainj1 · 08/06/2021 20:30

My Garmin that is, not Harman

weehoo · 08/06/2021 20:30

Mine is around 68 and I have found previously that the biggest factor in lowering it is cutting out sugar and lowering carbs - was really surprised at how much impact they have!

Verbena87 · 08/06/2021 20:31

52, I’m 34 and fairly fit.

KatharinaRosalie · 08/06/2021 20:31

47, my Garmin says. I'm fit.

IGetOver · 08/06/2021 20:31

Mine is currently at 75 and I’ve not moved from the sofa for a good hour, too high I think

hilbil21 · 08/06/2021 20:32

Mine is 44 normally! I have had tests and all is well. I thought I was dead Grin

MadMadMadamMim · 08/06/2021 20:32

I have absolutely no idea.

I know my blood pressure is always 110/70 whenever it's measured which is apparently ideal and hasn't changed through 5 pregnancies, lots of added weight and menopause.

I don't think anyone's ever told me my heart rate.

Mogloveseggs · 08/06/2021 20:33

64 according to fitbit

Sensateria · 08/06/2021 20:33

56 right now.

Natsku · 08/06/2021 20:33

Around 70 according to my watch

Purplewithred · 08/06/2021 20:34

Fitbit says 51; I’m 62 and run 5k 3x per week. When I’m not running it goes up to about 60. But there’s a big difference between smart watch resting heart rate and sofa resting heart rate. It says my Sats are 94% but my work pulseox says it’s 97/98ish.

crummyusername · 08/06/2021 20:35

56 on average (according to Garmin). I’m 48 and fairly active.

Dumbledoresgirl · 08/06/2021 20:37

56 at the moment. I am mid 50s, not especially fit, but I am slim (if that makes a difference?) and certainly haven't let myself go physically.

MrsLCSofLichfield · 08/06/2021 20:40

Somewhere in the 80s. Is everyone else on this thread a whale? Grin

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 08/06/2021 20:41

My Fitbit says 74 now I have given up smoking. It’s much higher if a health professional does it because I have white coat syndrome

Wheresmybiscuit3 · 08/06/2021 20:41

I am lazy
