I'm a Beekeeper, and have a hive in my garden, was sitting out earlier on a fair way from the hive and noticed this fellow a bit tired.
No idea if it was one of mine or not, but gave a little refreshment and off he went right as rain!
Managed to get an amazing photo 😃

A lovely little thing

Aww.

TheQueef · 31/05/2021 15:08

He's lovely, great pic!

SomethingOnce · 31/05/2021 16:28

Did you give him a sugary be(e)verage?

SmidgenofaPigeon · 31/05/2021 16:29

That’s beautiful! I really love bees.

toomanyplants · 31/05/2021 16:30

@SomethingOnce haha yes!
Tiny vial of revival juice that I always have to hand (just sugar and water)
They are normally grand on just a water, but this little one was exhausted, I guess it is akin to an energy drink for us!

A lovely thing here yesterday - dcat was asleep on the edge of the trampoline and ddog (18 months still a bit unsure of dcat) went and gave him a proper nose snuffle under his face.! Not sure how well received it was but he didn't run off!!

BalloonSlayer · 31/05/2021 16:40

That's a fantastic picture! Smile

HeronLanyon · 31/05/2021 16:43

Really lovely.

SomethingOnce · 31/05/2021 16:46

I want a tiny vial of revival juice Grin

I did read somewhere about a man who’d invented a credit card-sized thing with a blister of liquid for bee rescue. I was concerned about the single-use plastic, but it was a nice idea.

Bipbopbee · 31/05/2021 16:47

Bee-utiful!

I have one of those BeeRevive phials on a key ring they are such a great idea!

SomethingOnce · 31/05/2021 16:49

Googled it: the Bee Saviour Card Halo

SomethingOnce · 31/05/2021 16:53

I love the idea of all these people walking around ready to assist fatigued bees at a moment’s notice Smile

Unsuremover · 31/05/2021 16:54

I love how you’re not sure if it’s one of your bees, as though you recognise some of them. I’d love to keep bees.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 31/05/2021 16:55

I’ve just bought a bee revival keyring kit because of this thread Smile

toomanyplants · 31/05/2021 16:58

I'm often found on my knees on the pavement randomly trying to give assistance to tired bees!
People must think I'm crazy haha
Oh they're lovely little things, yes i somehow think I could recognise my own.... there are about 20,000 in the hive 😂

Kpo58 · 31/05/2021 17:01

Have you named them all yet? Grin

SmidgenofaPigeon · 31/05/2021 17:01

People think I’m crazy all the time too, I stopped cars coming in both directions last summer to get a tired stag beetle across the road!

AGirlCalledJohnny · 31/05/2021 17:05

The bees in my garden love to tease my puppy. He tries to chase them as they swoop down to just out of reach. It’s completely adorable 🥰

AGirlCalledJohnny · 31/05/2021 17:08

My DH is an inveterate animal rescuer too, at various times we’ve had to stop our car to grab a lost lamb (it STANK!), turtles, and stray dogs. My son has taken up the mantle, and seems to spend every second run returning dogs on the lam to their owners

toomanyplants · 31/05/2021 17:11

@Kpo58 if you could help me out on how to do this I'd be delighted!

I always give tired bees, in my garden, some sugar water too. Thank you OP 🤗
