Anyone else seen the news?? Another baby on the way, relationship on the rocks, or good old fashioned age gap love?

They're both as vile and grabby as each other IMO. Well-matched (for now).

JinglingHellsBells · 30/05/2021 11:37

@Peregrina

Once again though, we see Johnson sorting out his private life instead of attending to the pressing needs of the country.
LOL. @Peregrina

So half a day at weekend is making a difference?

JinglingHellsBells · 30/05/2021 11:38

Remember, even the dog rated more attention than handling the pandemic.

The fuss over the dog came from Carrie.

KarensChoppyGob · 30/05/2021 11:38

And the decor, don't forget the decor Grin.

SkodaKodiaq · 30/05/2021 11:40

I think it's revolting. I have no issue with age gaps BUT... He was first married in 1987 which is ONE WHOLE YEAR before Carrie was even born!!!! Hmm🤢

JinglingHellsBells · 30/05/2021 11:41

@Blossomtoes

She’s decent looking but definitely not in extremely beautiful territory. She’s been incredibly fortunate in her career, she’s progressed as far in a decade or so as most people manage by their early 40s. Which is surprising as every experienced comms professional I’ve ever met would never entertain for a second the offended letter she apparently wanted to send last year.
She is good at networking and her father was a former editor of the i newspaper.

Her degree is in theatre studies and art, so not exactly the basis for marketing and comms.

She was supposedly sacked from her job for fiddling expenses, allegedly. Taking taxis for private bashes, and saying they were for work.

midsomermurderess · 30/05/2021 11:43

I can't see the appeal of becoming someone's third wife. Doubtless I'll be told off for that, and yes marriages fail for lots of reasons, but to be number 3 to a man who has lived a life of serial adultery, would you not have even a slight doubt about what marriage actually means to him?

borntobequiet · 30/05/2021 11:46

That’s an extraordinary pose from her in that photo, straight out of Jackie magazine 1973. Nauseating then as now.

Peregrina · 30/05/2021 11:51

Well, I agree, it doesn't look as though he put much effort into preparing for his nuptials. Someone managed to provide him with a buttonhole, but otherwise, he is the usual scruff.

Leonardsgirl · 30/05/2021 11:52

He's not allowed to get married on a Saturday afternoon - shouldn't take that time off? Really?

Notonthestairs · 30/05/2021 11:56

Do you really think he just tipped up at church? Did he not have to meet with the priest a few times beforehand? I suppose he's well practiced at getting wed maybe he did just stroll in and repeat the vows.

DeclineandFall · 30/05/2021 11:59

If Matt LeBlanc looks like every Irish uncle, Johnson in that wedding photo looks like every grandpa who's been allowed out for the day to attend his grand daughters wedding and hasn't a clue whats going on.
'You alright gramps. They looking after you?'

the80sweregreat · 30/05/2021 12:01

Jeremy corbyn has been married three times as well. It's obvious that politics and power must very intoxicating to some.

It will have taken quite a bit of effort to organise. Especially if done at short notice.

The armed detail, for example.

And that - like the dog - is the point.

Johnson is lazy. But teams of people have to be diverted from other - more important - issues to sort this stuff out.

I’ve got as little time for either of them as anybody but this really is scraping the barrel. What else would his security staff have been doing? Sitting in Downing Street with their feet up with their phone and a cup of coffee probably.

Grin I thought he looked like the father of the bride in that photo. But now you mention it, he looks more like her grandad
thecatfromjapan · 30/05/2021 12:17

Why's it scraping the barrel?

It is just a statement of the absolutely obvious.

It will have taken time to organise.

And that was one of Cummings' comments: time and effort that should have gone into a relentless focus on dealing with the pandemic response was consistently diverted to other areas - demonstrative of a fundamental lack of seriousness.

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 30/05/2021 12:17

I think they're being very ambitious, planning a big party next summer for family and friends next summer...

Do we think the marriage will last til then?!

SueSaid · 30/05/2021 12:19

Lovely photos and how great they told the msm it was next year Grin.

SueSaid · 30/05/2021 12:20

Quite fascinated by all the handwringing on here about the rules of the Catholic Church.

yellowspanner · 30/05/2021 12:23

The bitchiness on here is ridiculous. He gets married on a Saturday afternoon and people say he should not have been allowed time off.
There are lots of marriages with big age gaps. What is the problem with it?

thecatfromjapan · 30/05/2021 12:26

I mean, this isn't your odd uncle, with his trying peculiarities.

He's the Prime Minister, who runs the country - during a pandemic.

Cummings' testimony painted a picture of organisational chaos, with an absent, lazy man at the heart of that.

Indeed, Cummings' testimony was aimed at demonstrating that Johnson facilitated that chaos, in order to further his own importance and hold on power-through-populism.

And, lastly, Cummings' repeatedly stated the direct result of that (dis-) organisational structure was tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths.

And here we go again. A populist, domestic spectacle that has clearly been prioritised over the continued need to deal with other matters.

Any need to deal with issues such as the continued problems of the pandemic are downgraded, minimised. Met with a wave of the hand and a hope the NHS vaccine roll-out will sort it all out.

And a spectacle.

Ridiculous, lazy governing.

If course it will have taken time to organise. That’s the security detail’s job and it wouldn’t have taken any more organisation than an official visit.

It’s a bloody weird world where I find myself arguing Johnson’s corner!

midsomermurderess · 30/05/2021 12:27

She wore a very pretty dress though, you can't deny that.

Sweetslumber · 30/05/2021 12:29

I wouldn’t call it ‘handwringing’. I doubt many people who have commented care about the Catholic Church or it’s rules. However, I guess since the rules are in place and need to be followed by many ordinary members of the Catholic faith there is bound to be annoyance if he has been given special treatment. It’s just another example of the rich and privileged doing what the fk they like despite existing rules, regulations and policy.
