Holiday was moved from last year to this year and now I'm here im having a shit time.

Dp is ill, sudden gall bladder trouble and in pain and indigestion all the time. 3 strong lots of antibiotics and he's no better, tired all the time, lost weight as he can't keep much down.

I'm upset because I hate seeing him from going from a fit and active man to one who is sleeping a lot. The kids dds 9 and 11 know there's something wrong but they don't know what. Theres talk of ultrasounds and ct scans..I'm convinced he has cancer.

We shouldn't have come but dp wanted to. I'm going to the very limited shows with the kids but most of it is prebooked the whole atmosphere just isn't the same..just not the same.

I could cry (no judging) just going to drink a large glass of wine instead

I hope they can get him comfortable and home again before too long. So glad he is being sorted finally

Cocolapew · 30/05/2021 21:58

Thanks@CowbellsSmile

shewalkslikerihanna · 30/05/2021 22:32

@ghostmouse

I've only had a glass don't worry..was going to drink a big one but changed my.mind

The gall bladder pain is mostly manageable..but its his actual stomach that he feels shitty with.

He's just pretty wiped out.

I also think he should have been on a 2 week pathway as well but thats our local health board for you l.

A and e said the last time there's nothing they can do for him now just painkillers.

His doctor just gives him antibiotics. The ultrasound department are only scanning urgent people..we don't know if he's seen as urgent..his doctor is not hopeful

Emergency measures Don’t eat for 24 hours Lots of water to keep hydrated Have 1/2 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in the water This will help to alkalise the body and reduce the pain Hot water bottle on gall bladder/ liver No dairy or gluten the next day Keep as inflammation free as possible Apples, soft fruits, veg juices if possible

Cocolapew best wishes to you as well. Hope you are feeling better soon too

I was quite surprised to find he has a liver infection but some of you have had the same which is a little reassuring

Thanks for all the handholds

Hes on morphine, and he's also jaundiced and anaemic

Hes managed to keep down a cheese buttyand jelly and ice cream and his pain has lessened.

Hes off to sleep (with headphones in..snorers lol) and I'm off to bed myself.

My mums cooked us tea and we're staying here tonight.

Thanks all you fantastic mumsnetters :)

ghostmouse · 31/05/2021 09:16

Unfortunately its bad news this morning

Dp has a rare type of liver cancer.
Being confirmed with more scans and biopsy tomorrow .

But its very very likely

Oh no op. I'm so sorry to hear this. Life is so unfair sometimes. Poor you. And your poor DH Flowers

Treatments are improving all the time and depending on where the tumour is, parts can be resectioned and rejuvenate. So try to keep calm until you know what you are dealing with. Thinking of you x

Cocolapew I hope you are feeling better.

Sorry to hear the news. I'm keeping everything crossed that if it is confirmed as cancer it's one of the ridiculously slow growing ones that's easy to fix.

Didicat · 31/05/2021 09:50

Sorry to read your sad news, if he’s going to be stuck in hospital a while I can throughly recommend the library audiobook app.
