It's 1.30am - why are you still up?

I'm waiting for Ds2 to come home - he's 18 and finished school today. Spoke to him about 11.30 (been out since 4.30) and he said "love you mum" so clearly drunk.

Last message 30 mins ago "we are helping a girl who's drunk" good, lovely!

I'm up because I have menopausal insomnia! My two DS are in bed at least! They are 14 and 11.

DS is 19 months and had a bad dream, currently soothing him back to sleep

Just put my mum in an ambulance as she had palpitations and got confused. Menopausal flushes. Teenagers. I AM the sandwich generation personified!

Dh is on nights & I can never sleep when he's not here, I'll stay awake until I pass out.

What's really confusing me is can I go to sleep and assume she will be there until morning or do I need to call a and e and maybe need to go and get her at some time in next few hours. Argh :-(

I'm sure he's fine, he's just been out so long! DD says that's good as he will be staggering drinks so not so drunk.

Was doing the housework and washing, did a night shift Thursday night. Had a few drinks while doing said housework lol.

Hope he gets home soon, OP! I remember my DM used to wait for us to get home. She still appreciates a text if she knows we are out although we are adults now with kids. I used to think it was weird (in a loving way!) until I had a child of my own. Although he's many years away from going out yet, thank goodness 🤭

Fell asleep with DS at 9pm, woke up for a drink and now I'm struggling to get back to sleep and feel a headache coming on. DH also had his jab today and I keep checking on him to make sure he's ok 🙄

I have had a hellish day. My mental health has taken such a battering. I am sitting up and can't go to sleep. My head is racing at 100mphs. I am an irritable, stressed, crying and depressed mess. My husband fell asleep earlier and I have let him sleep. I dont want to wake him and the two of us be miserable together and over tired tomorrow. Our youngest is a crap sleeper and has SEND and could be up at 5. I am juggling so many balls at the moment. I read something earlier that said why does life have to be so hard? That sums up my thinking at the minute.

My ds who is autistic has finally decided what he would like in his toastie, and cannot find one pair of his black shorts (he has 8 pairs of identical black shorts)

Ds home, seems relatively sober, all in one piece; I'm going to see if I can sleep now 😃

Because my elderly greyhound is barking. She’s going to pretend it’s because she needs to go out for a nighttime wee, but we both know it’s really because she wants me to let her in to the sitting room to snooze on the rug. We also both know I’ll let her Grin

Feeding baby and soothing sick toddler while dh sleeps happily on couch. I only managed two hours sleep last night due to sick toddler and feeding baby, so absolutely exhausted and very frustrated with dh’s lack of support.

Because I had two cappuccinos this morning.

Because I had dinner with five lovely friends at another friends house and we hadn't seen each other in the longest time ( pandemic time) and we spent four wonderful hours together talking about anything and everything and I am running on happy bubbles.
