If you could give up one chore for the rest of your life what would it be?

For me, cooking. So sick of it and would be happy if I never had to do it again

Definitely 100% washing up!

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 22/05/2021 02:21

The mental load.

Cleaning the bathroom
Definitely this. Every bloody day top to bottom, it is a chore. Oh and the kitchen too.
Mandalay246 · 22/05/2021 05:13

Hoovering - and sweeping up leaves and dealing with the rampant bamboo in my lawn!

MangoSeason · 22/05/2021 05:38

I was going to say helping my 3 kids put on their football socks, boots and shin pads but that won’t be forever. Although sometimes it feels like it. I’ll settle on cleaning the dishwasher trap.

BigBumBessie · 22/05/2021 06:11

Putting duvets in covers and vacuuming the stairs can both do one

MayorGundersonsDogRufus · 22/05/2021 06:14

Ironing. It's so boring.

tiredanddangerous · 22/05/2021 06:23

It's really hard to pick one but I think I'd have to pick cleaning the kitchen. Getting the floor clean is just horrible (light coloured textured vinyl...big mistake)

Msfoxy17 · 22/05/2021 06:28

Another vote for laundry. Putting stuff away is the worst part. It's just sodding endless. And no matter what products I try, my washing never has that lovely washed smell that other people's has...

Also teethbrushing. I see it as a chore. Twice every bloody day I'm so sick of it and wish I could get away with not bothering!

Newestname001 · 22/05/2021 06:34

@Lollypop701

I want a laundry fairy… so I put in the washing basket and it reappears in my wardrobe…

I bet you're the laundry fairy in your house.. 🧚‍♀️

MotherOfCrocodiles · 22/05/2021 07:50

Opening the front door. I can never find my keys and end up emptying my bag on the doorstep.

Luckily since lockdown I have been able to almost give up unlocking the door from the outside....

Absolutely cleaning the bathroom. I hate it with such ferocity. It’s dust and never being able to clean it properly, I don’t even mind cleaning the inside of the toilet it’s the surfaces and floor 😩😩
I hate this too. I don't know why other people's bathrooms don't have this constant dust! And hard water marks too. It never looks really sparkling.
VictoriaLudorum · 22/05/2021 11:35

Dusting. I have always hated it.

battenburgwithtea · 22/05/2021 14:18

I'm wondering if anyone with a robot vacuum cleaner can tell me - do you not trip over it?

Bumping for Needhelp101 and the robot vacuum crowd Smile

BertieBotts · 22/05/2021 17:03

No, why would you trip over it? It's not running all the time.

battenburgwithtea · 22/05/2021 17:28

Well I'm quite clumsy. I don't really get how they work or when people put them on- don't the kids trip over it or dog try to attack it?

Mopping floors

Needhelp101 · 22/05/2021 18:10

I've never once tripped over Robbie the Roomba (actually he's a Eufy but Robbie 1.0 was a Roomba).
He's quite soothing company actually, just bumbles around doing his stuff. He occasionally nudges my feet under the desk. Then when he's done, he takes himself back home to his charging station.

Needhelp101 · 22/05/2021 18:11

Occasionally he gets stuck under something or eats a wire and then beeps plaintively until I rescue him.
But it's lovely to set him going, go out and come back to spotless floors!

Thanks Needhelp101 I am going to look into one. Sounds like you and Robbie are quite attached Smile

Cooking 100%
I love eating, talking about food and trying new foods, I just hate the constant chore of it.

999Alex · 22/05/2021 18:42

Dishes!

I mean I have a dishwasher but u still need to load it and unload the mountain of dishes my family have. Then there's the oven trays, pots etc. It's every day too 😫
