If you could give up one chore for the rest of your life what would it be?

For me, cooking. So sick of it and would be happy if I never had to do it again

Difficult to choose, really. My life would be transformed if I never had to do the below 3 chores ever again:

 • Cooking
 • Laundry
 • Washing-up/doing the dishwasher.

I can't immediately pick the one I hate the most.
@optimistic40 I use the Viakal spray which seems to work okay on the taps and any silver bits. On the shower screen I just use glass cleaner but it feels like a never ending battle.
@FizzyPink - Viakal is the only thing I find works too , it’s just so tedious.

Providing meals. Not the cooking (so much), but the planning and shopping and, mainly, the responsibility for thinking of something and taking the flack when invariably someone doesn't like it.

I would very much like a personal chef for our household.

Wallabyone · 21/05/2021 17:14

Laundry, from start to finish-must include putting it all away!

idontlikealdi · 21/05/2021 17:21

Thinking about what to cook, not the actual cooking.

Sgtmajormummy · 21/05/2021 17:21

Washing the goddam windows.
We have wonky floors and high windows so a ladder is a death trap.

3/4 times I only clean as far as I can reach and I’m constantly distracted by where it ends. The other time is DH’s job and it’s always sketchy.

britnay · 21/05/2021 17:25

cleaning.
I'm no good at it. Other people leave their shit everywhere and I get annoyed at it.

weleasewoderick23 · 21/05/2021 17:29

All the above! I hate shopping, cooking, laundry and housework. But then, I'm a slattern Shock

Whatwouldnanado · 21/05/2021 17:35

The self perpetuating slag heap of futility that is Tidying Up. I seem to constantly by putting things back, away, upstairs, downstairs, in the dishwasher, bin, back of the car. But one day the kids will leave and I might miss doing it. Not.

PerhapsCarriageGreen · 21/05/2021 17:36

Ironing. Fucking hate it. When I win the lottery I will have someone come and do it daily.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 21/05/2021 17:38

Changing beds

Mintjulia · 21/05/2021 17:40

Changing bed linen.

I strip the beds on a Saturday morning, stick the sheets in the wash, get absorbed in other stuff, totter upstairs to bed later, exhausted and then have to start locating clean sheets.

How lovely it would be to find a perfectly made bad, crisply ironed cotton sheets.....if I had a house elf, that would be his priority. Smile

gingercat02 · 21/05/2021 17:41

Dusting! Entirely pointless because the bloody stuff is back as soon as you look away, but if you don't do it the room looks awful

SymbollocksInteractionism · 21/05/2021 17:44

Cooking. Having to feed everyone, every fucking day!! Had enough of it!

Tlollj · 21/05/2021 17:51

I don’t mind laundry it’s actually one of my favourite jobs.
Putting the shopping away.
I live alone now so cooking is boring but I’ve never really liked it. It’s more thinking what to have every pissing day.

CassandraCross · 21/05/2021 17:53

Ironing and filing away household paperwork.

Scarby9 · 21/05/2021 17:53

Changing fitted undersheet and duvet cover on the double bed.

TinselTitsAndGlitteryBits · 21/05/2021 17:54

Putting the clean washing away, it bores me to absolute tears.

I get genuinely frustrated when I have to do it and put it off for as long as possible.

Justmuddlingalong · 21/05/2021 17:55

Cleaning the oven.

keepingmindful · 21/05/2021 18:04

Lunch boxes. 4 of them a night for 4 kids each one a containing different food items due to fussiness

BillywigSting · 21/05/2021 18:09

Laundry. All aspects of it.

I don't like separating the lights and darks, I don't like lugging it downstairs to load the machine, I don't like hanging it out, I don't like ironing it and I don't like putting it away.
I only do it because I need my clothes to be clean.

If I was rich I'd pay for a laundry person over a cleaner and my life would be much better.

Tal45 · 21/05/2021 18:11

How am I supposed to choose between hoovering, cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the kitchen and doing the dishes??

Mehmehmeh19 · 21/05/2021 18:16

Hoovering can't stand the noise

firstimemamma · 21/05/2021 18:19

Cleaning the bathroom

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 21/05/2021 18:53

It's a shame we can't swap and I could hoover your stairs let's say 3 X per week in exchange for you cooking

I love cooking so it'd be a great swap!
