For me, cooking. So sick of it and would be happy if I never had to do it again

@FizzyPink

Cleaning the bathroom. We live in a hard water area and the water marks everywhere are the bane of my life. If we weren’t moving in the next year I’d install a water softener but it’s probably not worth it at this point.

Also DP is mixed race and loves to remove as much of his body hair as possible. The man even shaves his underarms and his bum cheeks Hmm So I’m constantly finding these little thick hairs all over the bathroom.

How do you remove those marks? I've never been able to do it and bathroom really pisses me off!
Alexapissoff · 21/05/2021 16:12

Putting clean washing away.

BeachWaves2 · 21/05/2021 16:13

The dishes

AfterSchoolWorry · 21/05/2021 16:15

Definitely cooking. Despise it with a vengeance.

KobaniDaughters · 21/05/2021 16:15

Torn between laundry and just someone to keep my kitchen constantly sparkling clean and tidy....including the crap that gets dumped on the table, dishwasher regularly cleaned and cleared and the surfaces always super clean

I seem to be the only person who cleans as they go in this house

reprehensibleme · 21/05/2021 16:16

Skirting hoards, edges of carpets and hard floors, cobwebs - all the stuff you don't have to do every year week but is a right royal pita.

kiksta · 21/05/2021 16:17

Cleaning. I feel like it comes around so fast I don't actually get to enjoy it 😩

NoSquirrels · 21/05/2021 16:18

Sorting, folding and putting clean washing away.

And yes - I only put my own away. But I still hate doing that.

And therefore my DC are poorly trained at putting theirs away - so piles of clean laundry sit about untidily everywhere.

My DH cannot distinguish between a 10 year old’s pants or trousers or a 40+ year kid’s, so he’s no use either.

I don’t mind sorting dirty laundry, I don’t mind hanging it up to dry. But I wish I never had to put a stitch of it away ever.

bettertimesarecomingnow · 21/05/2021 16:20

Laundry!! And everything related to it

DinosaurDiana · 21/05/2021 16:21

Cleaning. Hate it. Same shit week in week out.

FizzyPink · 21/05/2021 16:24

@optimistic40 I use the Viakal spray which seems to work okay on the taps and any silver bits. On the shower screen I just use glass cleaner but it feels like a never ending battle.

memberofthewedding · 21/05/2021 16:25

sorting out and putting away the shopping after Tesco have delivered it. I bloody hate that job!

Whitewolf2 · 21/05/2021 16:25

Packing and unpacking the dishwasher! I hated washing up even more…how I wish we could just have paper plates all the time!

Camrette · 21/05/2021 16:28

I’ve already stopped ironing so I think mopping the floors would be next to go, it’s the task I dread the most

MissScotland101 · 21/05/2021 16:28

Washing dishes and especially pots! I swear I’m going to start buying paper plates!

Years ago when I was very depressed then I used every single dish in my house and I couldn’t be arssed washing them so I threw them all out except for a Mum cup that my DD bought for me!

MissScotland101 · 21/05/2021 16:30

I rarely iron, if you have a tumble drier then that stops your clothes needing ironed so much, and if I do have to iron then I do it as I go, I could never be bothered doing a big pile of ironing, tried it once and when certain items of clothing got folded and put away then they were crumpled again by the time I took them out to wear!
BrieAndChilli · 21/05/2021 16:31

Another one for Laundry - its never fucking ending

either i do some everyday which means everyday I have to wash/dry/fold/putaway constantly or I leave it to the weekend and its like 8 -10 loads of washing. niether option is appealing.

reallyreallyborednow · 21/05/2021 16:34

Hair removal

I did give this one up. Just stopped. I don’t think anyone’s noticed bar DH. Makes my life much easier.

I’d give up cleaning the floors. Hate it. Gardening too but I am going to get a gardener as soon as I find one that knows about actual plants rather than thinking building fences/patios/decks/lay astroturf or jetwash the same is “landscaping”

oldperson1 · 21/05/2021 16:34

Cooking also I loathe it , not just the cooking the shopping the “what shall we have for dinner tonight thought”

bellropes · 21/05/2021 16:36

Cooking. I absolutely hate it.

mygrandchildrenrock · 21/05/2021 16:36

Another vote for the bathroom. I hate cleaning it over and over and over...

battenburgwithtea · 21/05/2021 16:37

It's a shame we can't swap and I could hoover your stairs let's say 3 X per week in exchange for you cooking Grin

Shower screens are a real problem I've tried everything on mine. I do leave it to just be limescale-y quite a bit Blush

I agree planning meals is also a pain. If I won the lottery I'd get a chef and then they can just bring me the meals I don't care what it is

Changing the beds

Fitforforty · 21/05/2021 16:46

Tidying. I’m sure I spent a billion hours a week doing it. I’m just spend my time shuffle crap around the house.
