For me, cooking. So sick of it and would be happy if I never had to do it again

Cleaning the bathrooms

BertieBotts · 21/05/2021 23:08

Washing up for sure - in fact, I have! I don't think I've done a load of washing up for about 5 years. We have had a dishwasher for that long and anything that doesn't go in the dishwasher is banned from my house. (Or more likely gets shoved in there anyway until it breaks at which point it gets thrown away). I made DH do it in the house before that so I only did it very rarely :o

The only thing I dislike about dishwashers is the way they don't clean straw type items properly, sometimes they leave a greasy manky food residue on things, and if you wash anything plastic in with a combination of tomato and grease they get stained orange. I dislike washing up more than these things bother me, but I wish they would invent a dishwasher that fixed these issues.

Longdistance · 21/05/2021 23:12

I was going to say hoovering, but dh does that now.
I’d say, the mental load.!

Cleaning the shower

Changing beds

Unloading the dishwasher. I hate it so much I wash up every day and only use the dishwasher when we have visitors. I'll start using the dishwasher properly when they invent a machine that dries the water out of the bottoms of the mugs and puts everything away.

Also the cleaning the bathroom with a passion. However, if we’re accepting all aspects of ‘laundry’ as one item then I have to choose that as it would give me so much time back that maybe the bathroom wouldn’t feel like such an issue.

Impatientwino · 21/05/2021 23:35

Laundry for me too! If stuff just magically appeared in our wardrobes that would be amazing!

NakedBanana · 21/05/2021 23:55

Putting fuel in the car! Ahhhhhhh

Inwokdl definitely pay extra for someone to do it for me, like back in the olden days!

PickAChew · 21/05/2021 23:57

The fucking laundry.

Meal planning and putting the shopping away. Hate them both in equal measures

CluelessHamster · 22/05/2021 00:05

When I was married with young dc, I would have said cooking (plus the meal planning, shopping for it etc etc) in a heartbeat as it was such a thankless task and mostly unappreciated by the dc!

Now I live on my own I don't mind cooking as I can make what I choose or have soup/egg on toast if I can't be bothered faffing and no one complains! When adult dd is here (depending on uni/work) we share it and we both like the same type of thing so it works well.

These days, I would like to never have to clean the bathroom or kitchen.

Maggiesfarm · 22/05/2021 00:05

Housework.

LoveFall · 22/05/2021 00:06

Laundry, absolutely.

LadyWithLapdog · 22/05/2021 00:07

Putting away clean washing.
Doing anything tax and bills related.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 22/05/2021 00:10

Washing up and drying up. So technically two... I'll call it 'doing the dishes' to get around the rules!

floppybit · 22/05/2021 00:11

Cleaning the kitchen floor. God, I hate it!!

Hughbert · 22/05/2021 00:19

Paperwork wankery. File it. Recycle it. Cut my name off it. Resend as not known at this address. Or still mopping the bastard floors due to wet paws in blòody MAY.

ceilingsand · 22/05/2021 00:24

Hard floors.

IdblowJonSnow · 22/05/2021 00:25

All of it. Apart from hoovering which I love!

Enough4me · 22/05/2021 00:27

Ironing, so I did!
Everything gets a good shake and hung up now instead.

MajorNeville · 22/05/2021 00:29

Cleaning the bathrooms, I bloody hate it.

Tambora · 22/05/2021 01:21

Laundry in general, and bed-changing in particular.

Needhelp101 · 22/05/2021 01:54

Laundry. Putting the clothes in the machine, fine. Hanging them out, folding, putting away, not so fine.

If you can afford it, get a robot vacuum cleaner, they are great.

I don't even own an iron.

Washing up is a bit shit, too.

Redwinestillfine · 22/05/2021 02:01

Dishes. Loading the dishwasher, emptying the dishwasher, putting dishes away. It's never ending.
